PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Erol Ganush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sub Rage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Sub Rage was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Erol Ganush!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sub Rage!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Gregory Folan and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ganush swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Ganush loads up on a big right hand but Rage slips the punch.

Ganush clinches with his opponent.

Ganush manages to break the clinch.
Ganush throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Rage displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ganush throws out the jab.
A slow jab from Ganush misses its intended target.
Ganush ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rage moves away.
Rage keeps the fight on the outside.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ganush missing with a left hand there. Rage was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Ganush just misses with a punch to the body.
Rage shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ganush sprawls well. Ganush wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rage gets slowly back to his feet.
Rage throws a hook to the side of Ganush's head but Ganush sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rage steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ganush.
Rage misses with a takedown attempt - Ganush sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Ganush misses with an uppercut. Rage saw that one coming.
Ganush is looking to clinch but Rage is avoiding it.
Rage uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ganush.
Ganush misses with a straight left.
Rage shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ganush but Ganush pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Erol Ganush has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sub Rage.

Rage closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ganush to the mat! Ganush manages to get full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rage missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Rage trying to control the position from guard on top but Ganush is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ganush wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Rage trying to control but Ganush is working from the bottom.
Rage trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Rage throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ganush works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Rage has gone for a leg lock! Ganush slips out almost immediately though and dives into Rage's guard.
Ganush distracts Rage with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ganush scoring with punches to the head and body.
Ganush has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Ganush is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Ganush's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Ganush landing some decent shots from guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ganush accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Ganush showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Rage looking to control.
Ganush sitting in guard here, content to control.
Ganush wanted to stand there but Rage had control of the position.

Rage looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ganush is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ganush lands a couple of digs.
Ganush wants to pass the guard but Rage is keeping the position.
Ganush content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ganush is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Ganush tries to free his leg and advance position but Rage is retaining full guard.

Rage looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Rage throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Rage looks gassed!
Ganush wants to pass the guard but Rage is keeping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Erol Ganush dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Rage tries for a takedown but Ganush sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Rage walks into a jab.
Rage looks up at the clock. Bad move! Ganush lands a right hand from hell, dropping Rage. Ganush pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Erol Ganush!
