Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Igor Relcnic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Paul Peterson!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peterson wants to land a leg kick but Relcnic is out of range.
Relcnic fails to land the takedown.
Relcnic fails with the takedown.
Peterson on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Relcnic. Relcnic obviously looking to wear him down.

Peterson has closed the distance and engaged Relcnic in a clinch.
Peterson manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Relcnic tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Peterson just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Igor Relcnic. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Peterson as Relcnic tries to tie him up.
Relcnic is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Relcnic wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Relcnic goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Relcnic drops down looking for an ankle pick but Peterson pulls his leg out and moves away.

Relcnic wants to get back to striking at distance but Peterson won't allow it.

Peterson successfully pulls guard.
Relcnic wants to control from the top but Peterson keeps moving.
Relcnic has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Relcnic loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Relcnic postures up and lands a big shot to Peterson's brow.
Peterson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Peterson scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Relcnic is trying hard to land a takedown here. Peterson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Peterson is looking to clinch but Relcnic is avoiding it.
Relcnic avoids a punch combination nicely.
Peterson darts in trying to clinch
and Relcnic counters with a nice body shot.
A head kick from Relcnic lands but Peterson takes it in his stride.

and Peterson counters with a takedown into side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Peterson is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Relcnic is trying to improve his position.

Peterson decides to stand back up. Peterson steps back and let's Relcnic get back to his feet.

Relcnic doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Peterson counters with a shoot takedown. Relcnic fights it but they end up in guard.

Relcnic looking for a guillotine here but Peterson defends easily.
Peterson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Relcnic keeping moving, preventing Peterson from controlling successfully.
Relcnic is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Relcnic is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Relcnic is looking to stand up but Peterson isn't so interested in that idea.
Peterson is stalling in the full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Relcnic scores with a hook to the body. Peterson takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Peterson dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Relcnic tries to close the distance and clinch up but Peterson swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Peterson throws an overhand right that lands on Relcnic's shoulder, as Relcnic tries to avoid the shot.
Relcnic fails with the takedown

and Peterson counters with a takedown into side control.

Peterson in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Relcnic is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Paul Peterson!
