PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joe Camel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tandi Barsolo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Camel !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tandi Barsolo!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Lou da Vinci and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barsolo fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Camel avoids it really well and circles away.
A combination from Barsolo does no damage.
Camel is trying hard to land a takedown here. Barsolo sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Barsolo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Barsolo looks to throw the jab but Camel is out of range.

Camel shoots in looking for a takedown. Barsolo tries to sprawl out of it but Camel keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Barsolo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Camel takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Camel is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Barsolo is just riding it out for now. Camel eventually gives up the hold.

Barsolo is looking for a sweep. Camel is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Camel is working for a submission of some sort.

Barsolo is in trouble now - Camel has advanced to mount!
Camel postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Barsolo looks a forlorn figure.
Barsolo is trying desperately to improve position.
BOOM! Camel connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Barsolo is desperately trying to improve his position but Camel has a good base and remains in mount.
Camel trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Camel is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Barsolo is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Camel has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Barsolo's face.
Barsolo wants to control but Camel is having none of it.
BOOM! Camel connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Camel can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Barsolo is looking to escape.

Camel jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Barsolo manages to avoid the submission attempt.

No luck for Camel with that takedown attempt.
Camel lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Camel .

Barsolo drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Camel will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Barsolo is staying active underneath Camel , who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Barsolo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Camel lands a glancing blow to the side of Barsolo's head.

Camel shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Camel sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Camel jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Barsolo is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Barsolo and Camel has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
