The crowd seem to be enjoying Darwin's choice of entrance music: Rough Gem. Charles Darwin is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Crown Royal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Charles Darwin!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Royal fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Darwin manages to avoid it.
Royal throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Charles Darwin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Royal misses with an uppercut. Darwin saw that one coming.
Darwin shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Royal defends it nicely.
Darwin throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Royal on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Royal misses with a series of wild punches.

Royal gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Darwin to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Darwin tries to free his leg and advance position but Royal is retaining full guard.
Darwin throws a big right hand that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Royal working a defensive guard here.
Darwin wants to pass the guard but Royal is keeping the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Darwin postures up.
Royal has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Royal looking to hit a scissor sweep but Darwin is one step ahead there.
Darwin passes into half guard.
Darwin prevents Royal from improving his position.
Darwin works his foot free and advances to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Royal is wriggling around trying to escape.
Darwin thowing shots but they're missing.

Darwin is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Royal can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Darwin throwing strikes here but Royal is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Darwin landing shots from mount.
Royal takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Darwin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Darwin lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.


Royal is rocked!
Darwin softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Royal is out cold! Darwin jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Charles Darwin!
