Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Damien Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Slick Kennedy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slick Kennedy is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Damien Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Slick Kennedy! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Elvis Blanc and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kennedy is fending him off so far but Gracie persists. Nope, Kennedy circles away and we're back to standing. Kennedy thows a body shot but no joy. Kennedy throws a series of punches but Gracie avoids them all with ease. Kennedy misses with a few strikes there.
Gracie tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kennedy paws at him with a jab and circles away. Gracie closes the distance and clinches up with Kennedy, looking for a takedown. Gracie pushes Kennedy against the cage but Kennedy circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. No luck with that takedown attempt from Gracie. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Damien Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gracie tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Gracie shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Gracie fails with the takedown. Kennedy displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gracie. Kennedy lands a jab to the nose.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kennedy cracks Gracie with an uppercut from hell and Gracie crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Kennedy's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
Kennedy connects with a couple of short punches. Kennedy wants to pass the guard but Gracie is keeping the position. Kennedy is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Gracie is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Kennedy wants to pass the guard but Gracie is keeping the position. Gracie controlling Kennedy's posture.

Kennedy is stalling in the full guard. Kennedy stands and steps away. Gracie gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Kennedy clinches. Gracie wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Kennedy has him pressed against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kennedy lands on the inside with an uppercut. Kennedy gets through Gracie's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Gracie. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. Kennedy slows down the pace here.
Kennedy lands a left hand that snaps the head of Gracie backwards. Gracie has Kennedy pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Kennedy manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Kennedy softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Kennedy blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Gracie has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kennedy is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Kennedy displaying some good clinch control by pressing Gracie up against the cage. Nice body punch from Kennedy - that landed with a thud.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Kennedy working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Kennedy lands an elbow just above Gracie 's eye. Gracie has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Kennedy avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Kennedy's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Kennedy scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kennedy throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Slick Kennedy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. An inside leg kick lands from Kennedy. Nice straight punches there by Kennedy. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Kennedy. Gracie takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Kennedy ducks down and throws a big overhand right - it lands flush on the jaw, knocking Gracie out cold! The fight is over!
