Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Junior Filipovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex gonzales (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying gonzales's choice of entrance music: Hurricane Chris - Hand Clap. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
gonzales is looking to score with low kicks.
gonzales avoids the head kick by Filipovic.
Filipovic explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
gonzales drives through and clinches with Filipovic against the cage.
Filipovic wants to break the clinch but can't.
gonzales pulls guard effortlessly.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
gonzales wants to sweep but no luck.
Filipovic would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A head kick misses from Filipovic.

Filipovic defends well against a solid takedown attempt from gonzales.
No luck for gonzales with that takedown attempt.

Filipovic scores with a one two! gonzales had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
gonzales shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than gonzales was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Filipovic's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Filipovic in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
gonzales lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
gonzales has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
gonzales looking to control but Filipovic is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
gonzales is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Filipovic is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Filipovic flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. gonzales anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Filipovic and secures both hooks! This could be bad! gonzales slips an arm under Filipovic chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. gonzales has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. gonzales is squeezing on Filipovic like an anaconda would it's prey. Filipovic fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
