Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dave Batista (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quinton Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dave Batista! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Quinton Evans! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Evans fails with a takedown attempt. Evans fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Batista avoids it really well and circles away. Quinton Evans seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Evans fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Dave Batista has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Quinton Evans. Batista misses with a low kick.
Batista thows a body shot but no joy. Evans fails with a takedown attempt. Evans shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Batista pinned against the cage. Batista gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Evans closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Batista to the mat! Batista manages to get full guard. Batista bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Evans's guard. Batista is on the wrong end of a couple of strikes there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Batista trying to control but Evans is working from the bottom. Evans working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Batista. Batista working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Batista slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Evans wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Evans looks gassed! Batista working the strikes but Evans uses the opportunity to regain half guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Evans can do anything to dispel that myth.

Batista thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Batista is nestled in close to Evans, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Batista passes the guard and advances to mount! Batista trying to control but Evans is having none of it. Evans looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Batista struggling to land strikes to the head as Evans covers up. Batista missing with strikes from the back. Evans defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Batista's arms. Batista misses with punches from the back. Evans trying to get back to his feet but Batista is in full control for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Batista thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent. Batista is looking to control Evans but Evans is wriggling around and keeping busy. Evans really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Batista. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Batista.
Evans wants to escape the position but for the time being he's just trying to control the pace. Evans looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Batista stuffs the takedown attempt from Evans. Evans gets slowly back to his feet. Batista with a hook. Evans decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Evans wants to stand but Batista has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Batista wants to get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Evans keeping moving, preventing Batista from controlling successfully. Batista tries to free his leg and advance position but Evans is retaining full guard. Batista is looking to work some ground and pound but Evans has wrist control. Batista preventing the sweep. Batista is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Evans fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Batista avoids it really well and circles away. Batista forces Evans back against the cage and clinches. Evans wants to get back to striking at distance but Batista won't allow it.
Batista jumps guard but Evans stands there with Batista around his waist. Batista gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Batista breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Evans fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Dave Batista has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Quinton Evans. Batista pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Evans fails with a takedown attempt. No luck for Evans with that takedown attempt. Batista feints and as Evans raises his hands in defense, Batista changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Batista stands up and waves to Evans to follow him. Evans with a lazy takedown attempt and Batista cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Evans shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Evans was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dave Batista dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Batista is looking to clinch but Evans is avoiding it.
Evans shoots and misses and Batista counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Good work by Evans as he checks the leg kick. Evans darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Evans throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Batista manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Evans gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Batista counters by moving into the clinch. Batista tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Batista keeps control of Evans as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Batista breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's going to take a lot out of Quinton Evans. Evans shoots and misses and Batista counters by clinching up. Batista unloads a knee to the mid-section. Evans lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Batista gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Evans stands up from Batista's guard - Evans perhaps looking for a knockout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Evans misses with a takedown attempt and Batista holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Batista breaks from the clinch.
Evans doesn't succeed with the takedown so Batista counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Batista wants to get up but he can't break Evans's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Batista trying to control but Evans is working from the bottom. Batista wants to stand but Evans is controlling his posture from full guard. Quinton Evans has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Batista stands and throws Evans's legs to the side, diving into side control. Batista is trying to get an arm triangle but Evans is defending well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Evans wants to control but Batista postures up.
And that's the end of the fight! Dave Batista showed his dominance in that final round. Well Batista has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
