PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Clark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pablo Moralez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Moralez has chosen "Stonebreaker" by Corrosion Of Conformity as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that John Clark has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily John Clark seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Clark!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pablo Moralez!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moralez throws a head kick but Clark moves out of range.
Clark takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Clark tries for a takedown but Moralez sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Moralez drops Clark with a beautiful combination! Clark stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Moralez is looking for the KO!


Clark is rocked!


It looks like John Clark has been cut.
No joy there for Moralez, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Oh Clark is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Moralez tries to bum rush Clark with a series of wild strikes but Clark uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A swing and a miss from Clark.
Clark dives in and grabs Moralez's left leg, looking for a takedown. Moralez pushes down on Clark's head and hops out.
Clark seems to have got his legs back now.

Clark feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Clark drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Moralez manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Clark has Moralez in his guard.

Moralez is looking to stand up but Clark won't let him.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Moralez's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Moralez stands up from Clark's guard - Moralez perhaps looking for a knockout.
A combination from Moralez does no damage.
Clark shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Moralez sprawls well. Moralez wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Clark gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Clark. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Moralez swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Clark shoots for a double leg takedown but Moralez sprawls well. He's pushed Clark's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Clark avoids a punch combination nicely.

Clark gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Moralez to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Clark is breathing heavily.
Moralez wanted to stand there but Clark had control of the position.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Moralez tries to free his leg and advance position but Clark is retaining full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Clark fails with the takedown
and Moralez counters with a series of strikes. Clark will be more careful next time no doubt.

Moralez lands a big head kick that sends Clark tumbling to the mat! Moralez takes a step backwards and waves Clark back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Clark slips a jab and a cross from Moralez.
Clark gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Moralez counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Clark avoids the head kick by Moralez.
Clark slips under a jab from Moralez.
Pablo Moralez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Clark shoots and misses
and Moralez counters with a two punch combo.
Moralez fails to land with a series of punches.
Moralez lands a head kick!
Moralez fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Clark manages to avoid it.
Clark avoids the head kick by Moralez.
Clark takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

and Moralez counters with a series of strikes. Clark will be more careful next time no doubt.
Moralez slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
A jab lands there for Moralez.
Moralez doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Clark counters with a big head kick but Moralez shrugs it off.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Clark shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Moralez as he avoids it easily.
Clark shoots for a takedown but Moralez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Moralez leaves Clark with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pablo Moralez dominated that round.
The cut man is working on John Clark's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Clark looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Moralez!

Clark jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Moralez is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Moralez and Clark has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Moralez tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Moralez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Clark. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Moralez is not content to let Clark control the position.

Clark throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Moralez works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Clark is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Clark is trying to control. Moralez wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Moralez is defending against the submission attempts here by Clark.
Moralez pushes Clark off looking to stand but Clark dives back in and keeps control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Clark shoots in for a double leg but Moralez sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Moralez swats away the attempt to clinch by Clark.
Moralez throws a right and a left that both miss.

Moralez drops Clark with a beautiful combination! Clark stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Moralez is looking for the KO!

Moralez closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Clark out cold! Clark corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.
