Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Danny Aguirre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Popper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Aguirre might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Devlin - Giant . John Popper acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Danny Aguirre! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Popper! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Mauricio Rocha and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aguirre throws a right hand that Popper ducks under and follows up with a left that Popper also avoids with ease. Popper shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Popper was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Popper looking to control but Aguirre is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Popper thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Popper is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Aguirre to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Aguirre shrugs it off. Popper thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Popper trying to control but Aguirre is having none of it. Popper jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Aguirre manages to avoid the submission attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Popper wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Aguirre, who protects the arm well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Popper working the ground and pound but Aguirre is defending the strikes. Aguirre really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Popper is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Aguirre's half guard. Aguirre regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Popper.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Popper seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Popper stops Aguirre from standing up. Popper wants to control from the top but Aguirre keeps moving. Aguirre preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Aguirre keeping moving, preventing Popper from controlling successfully. Aguirre is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Aguirre misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Popper closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Aguirre did well to prevent Popper getting side control. Well, if Popper is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Popper trying to control but Aguirre is working from the bottom. Aguirre wants to stand but Popper is controlling the position. Popper looking to pass the guard.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Aguirre avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Aguirre is looking to stand up but Popper isn't so interested in that idea.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Aguirre misses with a few strikes there.
Popper shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Popper looks gassed! Aguirre throws a series of punches but Popper avoids them all with ease. Aguirre throws a right hand that Popper ducks under and follows up with a left that Popper also avoids with ease. Aguirre throws a right and a left that both miss. Popper looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Aguirre! Popper trying to control but Aguirre is having none of it. Popper unloads with some shots from mount but Aguirre bucks and avoids them well.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Popper throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Popper throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Aguirre because Popper loaded up on that one. Aguirre really wants to buck Popper off and get back to his feet. Popper thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

That's seven minutes gone in the round. Popper wants to control the pace but Aguirre is squirming around nicely. Aguirre tries to hold on but Popper pushes him away. Popper is in the full mount, landing strikes. Aguirre wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Popper tries to control but Aguirre wriggling away. Popper misses with a head shot.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Popper jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Aguirre is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Aguirre and Popper has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
The ground and pound from Popper seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Popper wants to stand but Aguirre has his arm trapped. Aguirre is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Popper has just dragged him back down to the mat. Popper tries for a kimura but Aguirre is defending well.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Aguirre explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Popper slips a jab and a cross from Aguirre.

Aguirre throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Aguirre throws a one two combo.
Popper tries to score a power double leg takedown but Aguirre sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Popper somewhat. Danny Aguirre is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Aguirre misses with a jab, cross combination.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Some wild striking there from Aguirre.
Popper shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Aguirre's guard. Aguirre wants to stand and escape but Popper is having none of it.
And that's the end of the fight! John Popper comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Popper has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
