Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gustav Scholz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Gustav Scholz has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Gustav Scholz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, David Green!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Anni Minnemäki and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scholz scores with a spinning back kick!
Scholz has a takedown stuffed.
Scholz throws a head kick that misses.
Scholz pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Scholz tries to close the distance and clinch up but Green swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Green throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Scholz was covering up waiting for the punch and Green finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Scholz is looking to sweep but instead, Green has passed into half guard.
Green wants to free his trapped foot but Scholz is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Green landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Green is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Scholz defends it well.

Scholz has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Green is working away from the top position though.
Scholz is looking to improve his position.
Scholz throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Green works his way into full mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Scholz is wriggling around trying to escape.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Green is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Scholz is surviving well by controlling Green's body position as best he can.
Scholz in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

Green has control of Scholz's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Scholz regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Green looks gassed!
Scholz wants to hold on but Green pushes him away.
Green manages to capitalize on a mistake by Scholz to take his back!

Green looking to break Scholz's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Scholz remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Green will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Scholz trying to control the position but Green manages to sink in the hooks.
Scholz rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Scholz is trying to maintain the position but Green is very close to passing his half guard.
Scholz is looking for a sweep. Green is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Scholz is pressing down on Green's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Green wanted to stand there but Scholz had control of the position.
Scholz is trying to keep Green in close.
Green throwing strikes but missing.
Green stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Scholz swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Scholz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but David Green will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Scholz scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
A combination from Scholz does no damage.
David Green seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Scholz throws a series of strikes that have Green backpedaling.


It looks like David Green has been cut.
Scholz wants to clinch.
Scholz thows a body shot but no joy.
Gustav Scholz is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Scholz throws a head kick that misses.

Green closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Scholz to the mat! Scholz manages to get full guard.
Green slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Green stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Scholz swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Scholz is striking from the bottom but Green uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
Green is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Scholz wants to improve his position but Green is controlling well.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Green working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Scholz tries to hold on but Green postures up.
Green is landing with some decent strikes but Scholz is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Scholz regains half guard.

Green seems to be working for a kimura but Scholz defends the submission attempt.
Scholz is trying to control but can't.

A close second round but David Green will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The cut man is working on David Green's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Green sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Green moves out of range of the body kick.
Scholz throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Scholz throws a one two combo.

Green looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Scholz!
Green can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Scholz is looking to escape.
Scholz can't escape the position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Green trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Scholz is trying to escape the mount.
Green controlling from the full mount.
Green prevents Scholz from getting the reversal.
Green avoids the attempt from Scholz to control.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Scholz is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Green is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Scholz working to try and regain half guard.
Green with shots to the head and body - Scholz looks very uncomfortable down there.
Green takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Green wants to take Scholz's back here but Scholz is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
Green looking to control but Scholz is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Scholz is desperately trying to improve his position but Green has a good base and remains in mount.

Green looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

David Green is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Green avoids the attempt from Scholz to control.
David Green has got the better of the ground game so far.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Scholz is looking to improve his position but Green isn't that keen on the idea.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Scholz is in all sorts of trouble here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Gustav Scholz has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Gustav Scholz.
I think Green has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
