Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Spider Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spider Silva is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Spider Silva!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva tries for a takedown but Jones sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Silva shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jones as he jumps to the side.
Silva lands a head shot.
Silva walks into a jab.
Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up but Silva swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jones bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Silva regains half guard.
Jones thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Jones has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Silva has one foot on Jones's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Mike Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Jones might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Silva is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Jones wants to control but Silva is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Silva passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Jones!
Silva prevents Jones from getting the reversal.
Jones wants to control but Silva is having none of it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Silva stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Jones displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Silva.
Mike Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Spider Silva.
Silva looks gassed!
Silva throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jones was covering up waiting for the punch and Silva finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Silva wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.

Silva is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Jones is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Jones has escaped and now he's on top!
Silva is looking to sweep but instead, Jones has passed into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Jones is trying to control. Silva wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Jones is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Silva is trying is best to control the position here.
Jones looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Silva with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Silva has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jones is working away from the top position though.
Jones stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Jones looks to land a combination. Silva sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Jones gets a takedown into half guard.
Jones is keen to just control but Silva is a slippery customer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Mike Jones will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Jones takes the fight into the clinch.
Silva misses with a punch on the inside.
Silva tries to pull guard but Jones holds him up against the cage and eventually Silva drops back down to his feet.
Jones stops a takedown attempt from Silva.
Silva can't get the takedown.
Mike Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Spider Silva.
Jones pulls guard successfully.
Jones looking for a sweep. Not yet Jones, not yet.
Silva tries to free his leg and advance position but Jones is retaining full guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jones controls Silva momentarily but Silva frees himself.
Silva wants to stand and escape but instead Jones has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Jones got a little sloppy there for a moment and Silva has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jones has managed to get both his arms back between Silva's legs - danger averted.

Jones wants to work for an arm triangle but Silva is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Silva tries to get to full guard but Jones has control of the leg.
Silva is trying to control but can't.
Jones looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Jones throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Silva moves out of range as Jones throws a body kick.
Jones shoots and misses
so Silva counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Silva controlling from the top position.
Spider Silva has got the better of the ground game so far.
Silva wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Silva passes Jones's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Silva is looking to take a break and control but Jones is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Jones moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Silva content to stall in guard here.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Silva wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.
Silva wants to stand but Jones has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jones is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Spider Silva will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Jones's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Jones changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Silva tries to avoid it but Jones manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Silva to the ground. Silva escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Silva gets a clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Jones's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Jones stops a takedown attempt from Silva.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silva is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Jones has gone for a leg lock! Silva slips out almost immediately though and dives into Jones's guard.

Jones tries to reverse the position but Silva maintains control.

Silva lands with some strikes.
Jones is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Silva looking to control and managing it successfully.
Silva connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Jones can't escape the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round.

Silva cracks Jones with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Jones is in all sorts of trouble here.
Silva sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Jones is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Jones takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Silva scoring with strikes but Jones is staying in there.
And that's the end of the fight!
Spider Silva comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Silva has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
