Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Carwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Clark Kent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clark Kent has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kent shoots in and bounces Carwin off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Kent slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Kent landing some decent shots from guard. Kent throwing strikes but missing. Kent wants to pass the guard but Carwin is keeping the position. Kent has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Kent gets to his feet - Carwin follows without any prompting.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kent throws a right and a left that both miss. Kent fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Carwin checks it well. Kent avoids a punch combination nicely.
Kent misses with a hook. Kent darts in and clinches Carwin up against the cage. Kent wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Carwin has him pressed against the cage. Kent looking for a takedown. Kent fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Carwin keeps control of Kent as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Carwin working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Kent is trying to break free. Both fighters working to control the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Kent is trying to break the clinch but Carwin is controlling him. Carwin lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Both guys are working to get underhooks. Kent tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Carwin smiles and moves away.
Brandon Carwin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Clark Kent. Kent misses with a head kick.
Kent shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Kent was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Kent tries to control but Carwin wriggling away. A nice elbow there by Kent. Carwin really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Carwin tries to hold on but Kent pushes him away. Carwin is trying to reverse the position but instead Kent has taken his back - oops! Kent controls the action. Kent is looking to control Carwin but Carwin is wriggling around and keeping busy. Kent lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Kent.
Carwin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kent on the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Kent cracks Carwin with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Carwin from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Good control from Kent. Carwin is breathing heavily. Kent doesn't have the hooks in and Carwin manages to turn into his guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kent can do anything to dispel that myth. Carwin has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kent is proving hard to escape from. Kent is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Kent not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Clark Kent dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Kent dodges the punch combination from Carwin.
Kent lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Kent shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Kent working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Carwin's head. Kent decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Carwin tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Kent wants to clinch up but Carwin keeps it at a distance. Kent gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Kent looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Kent is working for takedown but Carwin is calmly controlling the position for now. Carwin on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kent wants to break free but Carwin has control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kent tries to pull guard but Carwin won't allow it.
Kent is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Carwin pulls him back up using the underhooks. Brandon Carwin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Clark Kent. Kent has Carwin pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Carwin manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Kent goes for a takedown attempt but Carwin pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Kent takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Kent decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Kent tries to pass to full mount but Carwin defends it. Kent seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Carwin does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kent decides to return to a standing position. Kent closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Carwin to the mat! Carwin manages to get full guard. Kent postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Carwin is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kent, into his guard. Kent controls Carwin momentarily but Carwin frees himself. Carwin trying to control but Kent is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kent pushes Carwin off and scrambles back to his feet.
Kent feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Kent slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Kent stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Carwin swivels though and keeps the full guard. Carwin wriggles free and stands up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carwin throws a head kick that Kent semi-blocks.
A combination from Kent does no damage. Kent is looking to clinch but Carwin is avoiding it.
Kent misses with the combination.
Carwin lands with a slapping head kick. Kent scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Carwin can't do much from the bottom here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kent in side control, just content to control the action for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Clark Kent showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Carwin tries to buck Kent off but Kent takes his back! Kent is looking for the choke from the back position but Carwin is controlling his hands well. Kent really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Carwin. Kent trying to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kent controlling the position well here. Carwin rolled but Kent kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
The referee is taking a good look at Carwin as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Kent!
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Kent is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Carwin with him. Carwin is trying to defend but Kent has an arm under the chin now! Carwin grimaces and is forced to tap out!
