Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vincent Assaf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roy Bent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Assaf comes to the cage accompanied by click click boom. Bent comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Dropkick Murphys - Im shipping up to Boston kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Roy Bent has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vincent Assaf!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roy Bent!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Assaf moves in looking to clinch but Bent pushes him off.
Bent fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Assaf stuffs the takedown attempt from Bent. Bent gets slowly back to his feet.

Bent looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Bent pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Assaf is keeping the position for now.
Bent must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Bent drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Assaf dives on top into guard.
Assaf passes easily into side control. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Assaf working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Assaf is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Bent has escaped the position, nice work there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bent is trying to control Assaf's posture but Assaf avoids it.

Assaf is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bent knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Bent trying his best to control but Assaf has mounted him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Bent slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Assaf is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Bent!
Assaf lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Bent hang on?
Assaf trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Bent sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Bent looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Bent looks gassed!

Bent actively working from the bottom here.
Bent moves into full guard.

Assaf is pushing down on Bent's leg trying to pass to half guard. Bent is fighting to maintain full guard but Assaf has managed to sneak the leg through.
Assaf tries to pass the half guard into mount. Bent knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Bent is looking to control Assaf's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bent avoid being mounted?

Assaf is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bent defends it well.

Assaf is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Bent wants to control but Assaf is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Assaf trying to control from half guard but Bent is working away.

Bent looking for submissions off his back.
Bent has a hand on Assaf's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Assaf takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Assaf putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vincent Assaf dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Assaf shoots and misses

and Bent counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Assaf!
Assaf has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Assaf turns into Bent and is now in his guard.
Assaf stands and throws Bent's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Assaf is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bent knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Assaf decides to stand back up.

Assaf drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Bent tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Assaf wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Assaf wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bent keeps working.

Assaf tries for a kimura but Bent is defending well.
Vincent Assaf overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Bent is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Assaf working away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Assaf is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Bent is trying to escape and Assaf transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Bent is forced to tap! Nice work there by Assaf! Very nice indeed!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Vincent Assaf!
