Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Filipe Mendes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Muay Plata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Plata comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Creeping Death kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Muay Plata!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendes shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Plata pinned against the cage. Plata gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Mendes shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Plata throws a quick inside leg kick.
Mendes avoids the head kick by Plata.
Plata tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Horrible takedown by Mendes or perhaps it was just good defense by Plata which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Filipe Mendes. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Plata throws a head kick but Mendes moves out of range.
Plata thuds a left hand into Mendes's body.
Plata avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Mendes shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Plata as he avoids it easily.
Mendes wants to clinch up but Plata keeps it at a distance.
Mendes tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Plata swivels and escapes.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Plata! Mendes is out on his feet! Plata rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Mendes is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Mendes is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
