Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Merlinius Powers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bam Bam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Merlinius Powers!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bam Bam!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Damien Edna and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Powers lands with a good body shot.
Bam changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Powers tries to avoid it but Bam manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Powers to the ground. Powers escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bam has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Powers finds it's way round the side to connect with Bam's head.
Powers cracks Bam with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Bam tries to move into range but Powers moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Powers lands a left and a right that send Bam crashing to the mat, dazed. Powers thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Bam is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bam shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Powers's guard.
Bam is still in real trouble! Can Powers finish him?
Powers is pulling down on Bam's head to control his posture.
Bam seems to have recovered his senses.
Bam prevents Powers from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bam controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Bam trying to control but Powers is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Nice shot lands for Powers.
Bam looks to land a body kick but Powers moved away.
Powers fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Bam shoots in for a double leg but Powers sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Merlinius Powers is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A jab from Powers does it's job there.
Bam fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Merlinius Powers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bam Bam.

Powers bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Bam's head.

Powers connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bam shoots in for a double leg but Powers sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Bam is looking to clinch but Powers is avoiding it.
Bam drops his hands momentarily and Powers takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Bam shoots in but no luck this time.
Bam looks gassed!
Bam looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Bam walks into a left hand.
Good standup being displayed there by Powers as he connects with a hook.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Powers circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Bam to the canvas! Bam doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Powers keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Merlinius Powers!
