The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jefferies scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Meeks throws a nice inside leg kick. Meeks falls off balance throwing a combination
and Jefferies counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Meeks thinking. Jefferies misses with a wild body shot. Jefferies slips a straight right by Meeks. Jefferies steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Meeks. Nice uppercut there from Meeks. Jefferies will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Jefferies misses with a wild body shot. Meeks throws a combination that misses and Jefferies cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jefferies slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Jefferies catches Meeks with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Meeks is looking to clinch but Jefferies is avoiding it.
Meeks lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Meeks throws a lazy right hand but Jefferies sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Meeks tries to clinch up and Jefferies makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Meeks throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Jefferies scores with a hook.

Jefferies bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Jefferies lands a slapping body shot.
Meeks is breathing heavily. Jefferies lands an overhand right. Meeks takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Meeks takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Meeks swings away with a leg kick that misses. Jefferies with a jab. Meeks throws a looping overhand right but Jefferies ducks down to avoid it. Jefferies lands with a shot to the body. Meeks gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Jefferies to score an easy takedown into full guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Jefferies drops back looking for a leg! Meeks is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Meeks manages to kick Jefferies off! Jefferies jumps back into Meeks's guard. Jefferies tries to free his leg and advance position but Meeks is retaining full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Meeks wants to stand but Jefferies is controlling the position. Jefferies pushes down on Meeks's leg and manages to get into half guard. Jefferies seems to be working for a kimura but Meeks defends the submission attempt. Jefferies seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Meeks is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
