Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mario Rebelo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roronoa Zorro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mario Rebelo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Roronoa Zorro!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rebelo wants to clinch up but Zorro keeps it at a distance.

Zorro looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Rebelo!
Zorro looking to ground and pound but Rebelo is blocking nicely.
Rebelo is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Zorro takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Zorro escapes and gets back to his feet.
Rebelo has his takedown stuffed
and Zorro counters with a nice body kick.
A slapping body kick lands there for Zorro.
Zorro's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Zorro duly obliges.
Rebelo takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Zorro throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Rebelo gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Zorro counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Rebelo!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zorro's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Zorro duly obliges.
Zorro throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Zorro scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Zorro prevents Rebelo from escaping the position.
Zorro trying to control the action but Rebelo is working from the bottom.
Rebelo is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Zorro is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Rebelo's shoulder. That is not cool.

Zorro decides to stand up, so the ref orders Rebelo to his feet.

Zorro throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Rebelo was covering up waiting for the punch and Zorro finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zorro postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Zorro throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rebelo works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Zorro trying to control the position from guard on top but Rebelo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Zorro postures up in Rebelo's guard and throws a big left but Rebelo blocks it.

Zorro throws a strike but Rebelo rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Zorro decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Rebelo's guard.

Zorro rushes Rebelo and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Zorro breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Zorro fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rebelo sprawls well initially but Zorro persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Rebelo has hold of Zorro's hands but Zorro slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Zorro wants to pass the guard but Rebelo is defending well.
Rebelo is holding on to half guard well.
Zorro seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rebelo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Zorro is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Rebelo is doing well to control the position and prevent Zorro from advancing to side control.
Rebelo gets back to full guard.
Rebelo wants to stand but Zorro is controlling the position.
Zorro postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Rebelo manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Well Zorro has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
