Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between David Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dim Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mir is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Big Pimpin. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, David Johnson! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dim Mir! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yuuki Gou and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mir throws a nice outside leg kick. Johnson shoots in for a takedown but Mir shows good takedown defense. Mir goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Mir throws a wild combination but nothing lands. No joy there for Mir, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Johnson avoids a punch combination nicely.
A right-left combo lands from Mir. Mir misses the shot to the body. Mir lands with a kick to the ribs.
Johnson gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Johnson closes the distance and clinches up with Mir, looking for a takedown. Johnson pushes Mir against the ropes but Mir circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Johnson takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mir throws a quick inside leg kick. Mir throws a nice looking combination but Johnson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Dim Mir is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Mir chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Mir throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Johnson shoots for a double leg takedown but Mir sprawls well. He's pushed Johnson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Johnson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Mir. Mir will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Mir tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Mir lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Johnson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Mir rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Johnson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson blocks a low kick nicely. Johnson blocks the body kick.
Mir stuffs the takedown. Mir stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mir wants it to stay on the feet. Jab, jab by Mir - just one landing. Johnson closes the distance and clinches up with Mir, looking for a takedown. Johnson pushes Mir against the ropes but Mir circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. A punch combination from Mir misses. Mir scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Johnson. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. Mir closes the distance and lands a one-two. Johnson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Mir smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Johnson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Mir.

Mir moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mir lands a jab-cross combination.
Johnson is rocked! A punch combination from Mir misses. Oh Johnson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Mir throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Johnson. Johnson seems to have got his legs back now. Mir throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. A nice combination there by Mir.

and Johnson counters with a two punch combo. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Johnson takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
A clash of legs there as Johnson blocks the low kick. Mir throws a right and a left that both miss. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dim Mir dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.
Nice straight punches there by Mir. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Mir. This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Johnson might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far. Mir throws a push kick but Johnson slaps the foot to one side. Mir lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Mir has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Mir misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Mir connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Mir looks to land a left hand but Johnson moved out of range nicely. Johnson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Mir throws a wild body kick that Johnson sees coming a mile off. Mir throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Johnson tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Mir lands a jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. A chopping leg kick lands by Mir. Johnson displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Mir throws out the jab. Mir is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Mir cracks the inside of Johnson's front leg. Mir throws a right and a left that Johnson avoids nicely. Johnson shoots in and bounces Mir off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard. Mir wants to stand up but Johnson is controlling him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mir uses the ropes to get back to his feet.
A nice leg kick lands there from Mir. Mir throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Johnson is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Mir scores with a one two! Johnson had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

and Johnson counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Mir really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johnson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Johnson is pressing down on Mir's thigh, looking to free his foot. Mir is holding on for now. Mir is refusing to be controlled, as Johnson sits in half guard. Johnson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Mir knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Mir is trying to stand back up but Johnson is controlling him

Dim Mir showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Johnson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Mir manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Johnson has Mir in his guard.

Mir is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Johnson working for a triangle but Mir defends it easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Johnson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mir gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
David Johnson clearly takes that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Mir scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Johnson doesn't seem bothered though. Mir lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Mir with a nice cross. Mir misses with a looping right. Mir finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Johnson is working hard here to advance position.

Johnson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mir swivels though and keeps the full guard. Mir is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Dim Mir dominated that fourth round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Mir takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. David Johnson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Mir lands a nice leg kick that just misses Johnson's sensitive parts. Mir is looking to slow Johnson down with leg kicks. A leg kick checked by Johnson. Johnson scores a takedown into full mount! Johnson jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Mir manages to avoid the submission attempt. Johnson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson tries for a kimura but Mir is defending well. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mir can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Mir is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mir is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Mir is pushing Johnson's head away, looking to escape. Johnson manages to hold on to the position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Johnson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Johnson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mir knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
And that's the end of the fight! David Johnson showed his dominance in that final round. I think Mir has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
