Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Crimson Rayne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kazushi Sakurai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Crimson Rayne could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Kazushi Sakurai's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Crimson Rayne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kazushi Sakurai!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Donatello Bradman and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sakurai clinches up against the cage.
Sakurai looking for a takedown.

Rayne escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Rayne lands a jab.

Sakurai drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Rayne is not content to let Sakurai control the position.
Rayne is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sakurai looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Rayne is avoiding damage well.
Sakurai working the ground and pound but Rayne is defending the strikes.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Rayne tries to land a front kick but Sakurai steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Rayne closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Sakurai passes Rayne's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sakurai is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Rayne is refusing to be controlled, as Sakurai sits in half guard.

Rayne tries to kick Sakurai off but Sakurai keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Sakurai has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Sakurai wants to control the pace but Rayne is squirming around nicely.
Sakurai looking to control and managing it successfully.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Sakurai is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Rayne has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Rayne!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Sakurai shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rayne as he jumps to the side.
Sakurai looks for a takedown but Rayne sprawls well.
Rayne tries a head kick but it misses.
Sakurai shoots in for a takedown but Rayne shows good takedown defense.
Crimson Rayne has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kazushi Sakurai.
Sakurai shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Rayne defends it nicely.
Rayne misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Rayne pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Rayne lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sakurai circles away quickly and effectively.
Rayne keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Rayne throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Sakurai shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rayne as he avoids it easily.

Rayne throws a sloppy head kick and Sakurai moves out of range easily.
Crimson Rayne is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Sakurai tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rayne swivels and escapes.
Sakurai looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Rayne pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Sakurai tries to land a leg kick but Rayne saw it coming and moves away.

Rayne just misses with a punch to the body.

and Rayne counters with an inside leg kick.
Rayne misses with a head kick.

Sakurai tries to close the distance and clinch but Rayne swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Rayne throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Rayne counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Crimson Rayne is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rayne misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rayne lands a nice leg kick that just misses Sakurai's sensitive parts.
Good standup being displayed there by Sakurai as he connects with a hook.
Rayne throws a body kick that misses.
Sakurai cracks Rayne with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Sakurai shoots in looking for a takedown. Rayne tries to sprawl out of it but Sakurai keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rayne manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Sakurai fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rayne sprawls well initially but Sakurai persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Rayne looks like he's trying to stand up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Crimson Rayne dominated that second round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


The fighters circling - Sakurai throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Rayne throws the kick towards the body but Sakurai avoids it.
Rayne lands a head kick. Sakurai smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
A head kick from Rayne lands but Sakurai takes it in his stride.
Sakurai throws a nice looking combination but Rayne bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Crimson Rayne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rayne throws a sloppy head kick and Sakurai moves out of range easily.
Sakurai avoids the body shot from Rayne.
A head kick misses from Rayne.
Sakurai has a takedown stuffed.
Sakurai closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rayne circles away.

Rayne tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Rayne misses with an attempted mid kick.
Rayne throws a head kick that misses.
Sakurai tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rayne sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sakurai somewhat.
Crimson Rayne has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kazushi Sakurai.
Rayne throws a front kick aimed at Sakurai's knee but Sakurai avoids it well.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Rayne.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

and Sakurai counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Rayne's guard now.

Sakurai is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Sakurai goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Rayne turns into him and now he's in Sakurai's guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Sakurai has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Rayne should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Sakurai has tightened it up now! Rayne should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:19 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Kazushi Sakurai!
