Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Diego James Ndui Gambitinoa Jr! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Max Bear! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Ackerman and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gambitinoa Jr will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Gambitinoa Jr shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Bear has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gambitinoa Jr is working away from the top position though. Bear is looking to improve his position.
Gambitinoa Jr will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Gambitinoa Jr wants to work for an arm triangle but Bear is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Gambitinoa Jr stalling away here and it's allowed Bear to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Gambitinoa Jr postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bear is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Gambitinoa Jr, into his guard. Bear passes into half guard. Bear throws a strike but Gambitinoa Jr avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bear stands up over Gambitinoa Jr, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Bear drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Bear seems to have locked his on tight now - Gambitinoa Jr screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Bear, as he picks up the win!
