Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Bruce Richards! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Logan Walker! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Daniel Bishop and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Walker shoots in but no luck this time. Richards tries to clinch up. Walker shoots in for a takedown but Richards shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Walker fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Bruce Richards has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Logan Walker. Richards wants to clinch up but Walker keeps it at a distance. Richards clinches with his opponent.
Richards breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Walker shoots in but no luck this time. Walker shoots in for a takedown but Richards shows good takedown defense. Richards fails with an attempt to clinch.
Richards gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Richards is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Walker is controlling him. Walker tries to free his leg and advance position but Richards is retaining full guard. Richards knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Walker on the ground. Richards wants to get back to his feet but Walker is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Walker trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Walker showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Walker advances position into side control! Walker looks gassed! Richards wants to get back to his feet. Richards is trying to control Walker's posture but Walker avoids it. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Richards prevents Walker from improving position. Walker tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Walker wants to lay and pray for a moment but Richards keeps working. Walker content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Walker tries to move into full mount but can't pass Richards's legs. Richards is not content to let Walker control the position. Richards tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Walker wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Walker happy to just control the position for now. Walker has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Richards! Richards is trying to stand. Walker working for a submission but Richards is keeping him at bay. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Walker can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Richards is looking to escape. Walker swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Richards is now in Walker's guard. A big mistake from Walker there, giving up the dominant position!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Richards wants to control from the top but Walker keeps moving. Richards being controlled here momentarily. Richards got a little sloppy there for a moment and Walker has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Richards has managed to get both his arms back between Walker's legs - danger averted. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Walker wants to control but Richards passes easily into half guard.

Logan Walker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Richards tries to clinch up but Walker circles away and keeps his distance. Walker fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Richards sprawls well initially but Walker persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Walker wants to take a breather but Richards is having none of it. Walker wants to pass to mount but Richards is defending the position. Walker wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Richards, who protects the arm well. Walker laying and praying for a moment but Richards takes advantage and regains half guard. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Richards. Walker is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Richards to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Richards shrugs it off. Walker jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Richards is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Richards and Walker has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
