Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fense tries to avoid it but Smith manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fense to the ground. Fense escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Smith gets the takedown into side control.
Fense on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Fense tries to get out of the position.
Smith thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Fense trying his best to control but Smith has mounted him.
Smith goes for an armbar but Fense turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Fense.
Fense controls from within his opponent's guard.
Smith throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Fense gets to his feet - Smith follows without any prompting.
Smith closes this distance looking for a takedown but Fense circles away.
Fense shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Smith's guard.

Smith has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Fense has passed into side control.

Fense decides to stand up, so the ref orders Smith to his feet.
Fense drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Smith has his foot on Fense's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Fense works his way back into a safe position though.

Fense works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Smith is looking to control Fense's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Smith avoid being mounted?
Fense wants to stand up but Smith has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Smith is pressing down on Fense's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Smith wants to sweep but no luck.
Smith keeping full guard, as Fense tries to pass.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fense shoots in looking for a takedown. Smith tries to sprawl out of it but Fense keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Smith manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Dee Fense is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Fense darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Smith flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Fense wants to take a breather but Smith is having none of it.
Smith wants to get back to full guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Smith is pressing down on Fense's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Smith looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Fense sitting in guard here, content to control.
Fense stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Smith swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Fense trying to control but Smith is working from the bottom.
Smith is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Fense holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Fense is staying active underneath Smith, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Fense wants to control but Smith is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Smith passes the guard and advances to mount!
Fense tries to reverse the position but Smith maintains control.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Smith unloads with some shots from mount but Fense bucks and avoids them well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Crag Smith will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Smith shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Fense counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Smith wants to get back to full guard.
Fense seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Smith is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Dee Fense overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Smith won't allow Fense to pass to mount.
Fense is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Smith moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Fense trying to control the position from guard on top but Smith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Smith wants to get back to his feet but Fense is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Smith with a lazy takedown attempt
and Fense counters with a nice double leg into side control. Smith won't be happy with that.
Smith tries to buck Fense off but Fense is having none of it.
Fense wants to lay and pray for a moment but Smith keeps working.
Fense moves into full mount!

Fense takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Fense wants to control the pace but Smith is squirming around nicely.
Smith bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Fense is trying to control the position but Smith postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fense looking for a sweep. Not yet Fense, not yet.
And that's the end of the fight!
Dee Fense showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Fense has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
