Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between yaw yan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damian Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). yan comes to the cage accompanied by bad romance. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
yan doesn't manage to clinch there - Maia circles away.
Maia uses good head movement to avoid the hook from yan.
Maia tries for a takedown but yan sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
yan lands a high kick!
It looks like Damian Maia has been cut.
yaw yan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
yan cracks Maia with a good jab.
yan fails with an attempt to clinch.
Maia keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
yan uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Maia crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from yan - the referee stops the clock and Maia gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says yan. Maia manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Maia thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

yan has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
yan's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee stands the fighters back up. yaw yan just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Maia shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as yan sprawls well. yan wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Maia gets slowly back to his feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

yan pushes Maia away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Maia gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Maia is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so yan is just riding it out for now. Maia eventually gives up the hold.
