Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Ervin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jerald Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ervin comes to the cage accompanied by 3 Seconds to Freedom by Pop Evil. Wilson has chosen Rocky Road to Dublin - Dropkick Murphys as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jerald Wilson!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, William Peck and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ervin stuffs the takedown.

Wilson has Ervin pulled in close to control his posture.

Wilson wants to improve his position but Ervin is controlling well.
Wilson looks gassed!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Ervin shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Ervin was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Ervin is landing with some decent strikes but Wilson is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Wilson is bucking up trying to escape but Ervin cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Ervin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Wilson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Ervin makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Ervin.
Ervin is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Wilson kicks Ervin off and gets back to his feet.

Marcus Ervin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Wilson has his foot on Ervin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ervin works his way back into a safe position though.

Wilson gets to his feet. Ervin looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ervin is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Wilson off and has taken his back!

Ervin is looking for the choke from the back position but Wilson is controlling his hands well.

Wilson manages to reverse the position and now he's in Ervin's guard. Nice work there by Wilson.
Wilson stands and throws Ervin's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wilson has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Ervinis looking to pass into half guard but Wilson pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Wilson is in guard.
Wilson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Ervin manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ervin has hold of Wilson's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Wilson manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Ervin takes Wilson's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Wilson is in trouble.
Ervin has the hooks in. Wilson is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Wilson tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Ervin moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Wilson has worked his arm free - good work by Wilson!

Wilson is trying to stick to Ervin's back but Ervin is turning into Wilson. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Wilson's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Ervin.

I think Ervin has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
