Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rick Man (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bill Buckman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bill Buckman!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Man keeps the fight on the outside.
Man clinches but Buckman breaks the clinch
and Buckman counters with a nice uppercut.
Bill Buckman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Buckman lands a nice looking body shot.
Buckman throws a series of punches but Man moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Man counters with a two punch combo.

Buckman misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Man counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Buckman cracks Man with an open hand slap.

Buckman forces Man back against the cage and clinches.

Buckman breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Buckman.

Buckman stands up and we're back to a striking position.

and Man counters with a single leg into guard. Buckman didn't expect that.
Man in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Buckman wants to get back to his feet but Man is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Buckman utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Man lands a couple of elbows.

Man throws a big right hand that misses.
Man with a flurry of punches that miss.

Man missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Man goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Man swinging wildly here.
Buckman dives in and grabs Man's left leg, looking for a takedown. Man pushes down on Buckman's head and hops out.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Buckman.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rick Man dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Buckman breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Rick Man is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Buckman's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Man steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Buckman. That one must have hurt.

and Man counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Buckman is breathing heavily.

Buckman wants to clinch but Man slips to the side
and Man counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
A shot to the body from Buckman misses
and Man counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Crunch! Man slams his shin into Buckman's torso.
Buckman fails to land the takedown.

Man drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sloppy strikes there by Man.
Buckman takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Man throwing strikes but Buckman manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Buckman wants to control but Man is keeping him busy.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Buckman working away.
Man manages to work his way to half guard, despite Buckman's best efforts.
Man moves into full guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Man seems keen to control Buckman's posture.
Buckman slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Buckman trying to stand up but can't free himself from Man's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rick Man dominated that second round.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Man looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Man throws a right and a left that Buckman avoids nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
No luck for Buckman with that takedown attempt.

Man lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Buckman takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Buckman looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Man!

Buckman avoids the attempt from Man to control.
Buckman content just to control the position here.

Man wants to control but Buckman is having none of it.
Man is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Buckman is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Buckman sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Bill Buckman has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Rick Man is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Bill Buckman comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
