The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Joe blocks a leg kick. Joe shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Belkofer defends it nicely. Joe shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Belkofer sprawls well. Belkofer wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Joe gets slowly back to his feet. Joe fails miserably with a takedown attempt. David Belkofer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robot Joe. Belkofer is looking to land body kicks. Joe goes for an armbar but Belkofer turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Belkofer. Belkofer not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Crunch! Belkofer slams his shin into Joe's torso. Belkofer leaves Joe with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Joe with poor footwork there.
