Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Chi Myong Monteiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Santiago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Joe Santiago enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chi Myong Monteiro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Santiago!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santiago tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Santiago throws a head kick but Monteiro moves out of range.
Santiago throws a head kick that misses.
Monteiro throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Santiago on the side of the head.
Monteiro swinging wildly here.
Santiago throws a shot from downtown. Monteiro moves away and avoids it.
Monteiro looks to score with a jab to the body but Santiago is just out of range.
Monteiro ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Monteiro rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Santiago moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Santiago bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Santiago gets a clinch.
Santiago has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Monteiro avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Monteiro wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Santiago has him pressed against the cage.

Santiago is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Monteiro can't fight it off and eventually Santiago manages to take the fight to the floor. Monteiro looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Santiago gets to his feet. Monteiro looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Santiago works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Santiago wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Monteiro, who protects the arm well.

Monteiro throws a right and a left that Santiago avoids nicely.
Monteiro throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Santiago stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

It looks like Chi Myong Monteiro has been cut.

Santiago is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Santiago closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Santiago thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Santiago swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Monteiro is now in Santiago's guard. A big mistake from Santiago there, giving up the dominant position!

Santiago wants to sweep here but Monteiro controlling him for the moment.
Santiago is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Santiago is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

No joy there for Monteiro, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Monteiro lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Monteiro leaves Santiago with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Chi Myong Monteiro showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Santiago has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
