Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sam Uri! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jan David! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Luis Engracia and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! David fails with an attempt to clinch.
Uri shoots in and drives through. David sprawls well. Jan David seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Uri keeps the fight on the outside. Uri looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. David is looking to slow Uri down with leg kicks. David feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Uri escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. David gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. David must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Uri is trying to keep David in close.
David slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Uri looking for a guillotine here but David defends easily.
David trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Uri utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. David trying to control but Uri is working from the bottom. Uri has his feet on David's thighs here. He's pushed David off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! David screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
