The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawking tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Takimoto is able to avoid easily.
Hawking shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Hawking fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Takimoto clobbers Hawking with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Hawking thows a body shot but no joy.
The fight stays on the outside here - Takimoto looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Takimoto moves into range and connects with a jab.
Hawking stuns Takimoto with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Hawking lands a nice hook to Takimoto's body. Takimoto takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Hawking throws a body punch but Takimoto moves out of range.

Hawking shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Hawking lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Hawking has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Hawking postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Takimoto in real trouble here! The ref calls for Takimoto to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
