Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Billy Bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Stoner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stoner has chosen Battle Hymn as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Billy Bob! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Thomas Stoner! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stoner lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Bob throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Stoner's waist but Stoner gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bob off to one side. Stoner displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
It looks like Billy Bob has been cut. Thomas Stoner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bob doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Stoner throws a right and a left that both miss. Stoner ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Stoner swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Stoner misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Bob will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Stoner will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Bob shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Stoner's guard. Bob prevents Stoner from getting back to his feet. Stoner wants to sweep here but Bob controlling him for the moment. Bob working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Stoner is looking to stand up but Bob isn't so interested in that idea. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stoner can do anything to dispel that myth. Bob is pushing down on Stoner's leg trying to pass to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stoner wants to sweep but no luck. Stoner wants to stand but Bob is controlling the position. The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Stoner scores with a hook to the body. Bob takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Some wild striking there from Stoner.
Bob feints and as Stoner raises his hands in defense, Bob changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stoner looking for a sweep. Not yet Stoner, not yet. Stoner looks gassed! Bob throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Stoner really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bob. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Bob connects with a couple of short punches. Bob throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Stoner works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Bob lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Stoner avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Bob postures up in Stoner's guard and throws a big left but Stoner blocks it. Stoner can't keep his opponent in guard - Bob advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Stoner wants to get back to his feet. Bob looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Bob working over Stoner with some ground and pound. Stoner looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Stoner is looking for a sweep. Bob is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Bob drops an elbow to the side of Stoner's head. Bob thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bob scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Stoner taking some punishment here, with Bob in his half guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Stoner is trying to stand.
Bob landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Bob uses his free foot to push down on Stoner's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Stoner. Stoner wants to hold on but Bob pushes him away. Stoner is trying to escape the mount.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bob putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Bob with a couple of short strikes. Bob landing punches. Bob looking to finish Stoner with some ground and pound. This is bad for Stoner! Stoner taking shots to the head. A combination from Stoner does no damage. Bob uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Stoner. Bob looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Stoner is fending him off so far but Bob persists. Nope, Stoner circles away and we're back to standing. Stoner rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bob moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Bob throws an overhand right that lands on Stoner's shoulder, as Stoner tries to avoid the shot. Bob thows a body shot but no joy. Bob is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Stoner can do to turn this around? Bob throws a shot to the body.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stoner stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Stoner wants it to stay on the feet. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Stoner throws a right and a left that Bob avoids nicely. Bob shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Stoner is trying to defend but Bob finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Bob drops an elbow to the side of Stoner's head.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Stoner's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Stoner takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. A nice elbow there by Bob. Bob lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Stoner tries to reverse the position but Bob maintains control. Stoner wants to control but Bob is having none of it. Bob raining down shots from the mount! Bob looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
