Killington's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, America Fuck Yeah. STPIERRE is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: LOSE YOURSELF. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Buzz Killington! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, GEORGES STPIERRE! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! STPIERRE dives in and grabs Killington's left leg, looking for a takedown. Killington pushes down on STPIERRE's head and hops out. Killington looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Killington blocks the strikes from STPIERRE.
Killington trying to work for an americana but STPIERRE has managed to regain full guard.
Killington throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as STPIERRE works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Killington passes STPIERRE's left leg - he's now in half guard. Killington looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Killington is working for a submission of some sort.
That's one minute gone in the round. STPIERRE wants to get back to his feet.
Killington missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Killington is looking for a kimura but STPIERRE is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Killington to get the leverage. STPIERRE is trying to stand.
STPIERRE wants to improve his position but Killington is controlling well.
STPIERRE wants to control but Killington is keeping busy and won't allow it. STPIERRE really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Killington. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Killington is trying to work for a kimura but STPIERRE is defending well.
Killington is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so STPIERRE is just riding it out for now. Killington eventually gives up the hold. STPIERRE moves into full guard.
Killington tries to free his leg and advance position but STPIERRE is retaining full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Killington postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! STPIERRE is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Killington, into his guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Killington has his foot on STPIERRE's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. STPIERRE works his way back into a safe position though. STPIERRE wanted to stand there but Killington had control of the position. STPIERRE is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Killington trying to keep a closed guard but STPIERRE is proving a slippery customer.
STPIERRE tries to stand but Killington is controlling from the bottom. STPIERRE must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Killington looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Killington looking for a triangle here. STPIERRE is fighting it but it looks tight! Killington pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, STPIERRE is tapping out - this one is all over!
