These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Travis Faure!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Phil Paighn!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Faure fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Faure has a takedown stuffed.
Paighn wants to clinch.
Paighn lands a front kick.
Crunch! Paighn slams his shin into Faure's torso.
Paighn is looking to clinch but Faure is avoiding it.
Paighn misses with a head kick.
Paighn feints and then cracks Faure's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Faure down.
Faure is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Paighn is looking to clinch but Faure is avoiding it.
Faure circles away from the clinch attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A slapping leg kick lands for Paighn.
Paighn is looking to slow Faure down with leg kicks.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Paighn scores with a nice body kick.
Paighn misses with a body kick.
Paighn lands a nice looking body kick.
Paighn fails with an attempt to clinch.
Faure shoots for a double leg takedown but Paighn sprawls well. He's pushed Faure's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Travis Faure. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Paighn scores with a leg kick.
Paighn scoring well with a low kick there.
Paighn throws a sloppy head kick and Faure moves out of range easily.
Phil Paighn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Paighn lands a big head kick that sends Faure tumbling to the mat! Paighn takes a step backwards and waves Faure back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Faure is rocked!


It looks like Travis Faure has been cut.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Faure drops his hands momentarily and Paighn needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Faure just on the top of the head. Faure drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Faure - he's done!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Phil Paighn!
