Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Lynch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cranium Cruncher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kevin Lynch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Cranium Cruncher!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Roosa Järviläinen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruncher avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Cruncher changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lynch tries to avoid it but Cruncher manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lynch to the ground. Lynch escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Cruncher shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lynch's guard.

Lynch is looking to stand up but Cruncher isn't so interested in that idea.
Lynch keeping moving, preventing Cruncher from controlling successfully.
Cruncher is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Cruncher tries to free his leg and advance position but Lynch is retaining full guard.

Despite being in the dominant position, Cranium Cruncher just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Cruncher looks for a takedown but Lynch sprawls well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Cruncher shoots in for a takedown but Lynch shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Kevin Lynch has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cranium Cruncher.
Lynch throws a quick inside leg kick.
Lynch tries to clinch up but Cruncher circles away and keeps his distance.
Lynch throws a nice looking combination but Cruncher bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Lynch gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Lynch can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cruncher controls the pace.

Cruncher drops back looking for a leg! Lynch is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lynch manages to kick Cruncher off! Cruncher jumps back into Lynch's guard.
Cruncher slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Lynch knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cruncher on the ground.

Cruncher wants to pass the guard but Lynch is keeping the position.
Lynch wants to stand but Cruncher is controlling the position.
Cruncher trying to control the position from guard on top but Lynch is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Cruncher slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Cruncher remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Lynch is trying to get back to his feet.
Lynch is letting Cruncher control him for a moment.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Cruncher has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Lynch!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Cruncher is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lynch sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Cruncher closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Lynch did well to prevent Cruncher getting side control.
Still in half guard, Cruncher seems content to control.
Cruncher wants to take a breather but Lynch is having none of it.

Cruncher looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Lynch wants to stand back up but Cruncher manages to pass into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cruncher takes a little break here. Lynch wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Cruncher advances nicely into full mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Cruncher is looking to work his way around to Lynch's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.
Cruncher takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Despite being in the dominant position, Cranium Cruncher just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Cruncher looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Lynch!

Cruncher works his way to his opponent's back.

Cruncher working for a choke but Lynch is defending well.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Cruncher controlling the positon.
Lynch is trying to stand back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Cruncher's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Cruncher just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Cruncher struggling to keep hold of the position.
Cruncher has good solid back control here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cranium Cruncher showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Cruncher ducks under a wild hook from Lynch.
Kevin Lynch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lynch tries to land a front kick but Cruncher steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Cruncher closes the distance and clinches up with Lynch, looking for a takedown. Cruncher pushes Lynch against the cage but Lynch circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Lynch throws a series of punches but Cruncher moves out of range.
Lynch leaves Cruncher with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Cruncher seems to be looking for submissions.

The referee asks Cruncher politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Cruncher prefers to stall for the moment though.

Cruncher is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Lynch's half guard.

Cruncher looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Cruncher passes to side control.

Cruncher thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Lynch pushes Cruncher away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Cruncher gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

A lull in the action here as Cruncher stalls from top position.
Lynch wants to get back to his feet but Cruncher drags him back down.
Cruncher slows the pace down.
Cruncher works to advance to full mount. Lynch defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Lynch is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Cruncher has taken his back.
Kevin Lynch has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Cranium Cruncher comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Cruncher winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
