Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kitsuomi Nanaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pasqualito Cortes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kitsuomi Nanaka has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kitsuomi Nanaka! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Pasqualito Cortes! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Ren Mimura and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cortes fails with an attempt to clinch.
Cortes gets caught flat footed, as Nanaka shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Nanaka looking to sit in guard and control but Cortes gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Nanaka seems keen to control Cortes's posture. Cortes wants to control from the top but Nanaka keeps moving. Nanaka pulls Cortes in to control the position. Cortes must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Nanaka has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cortes won't allow Nanaka to sweep him here. Cortes tries to free his leg and advance position but Nanaka is retaining full guard. Nanaka working for a triangle but Cortes defends it easily.
Cortes is looking to stand up but Nanaka won't let him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Cortes trying to control but Nanaka is working from the bottom. Nanaka has his hands on Cortes's head, controlling the position. Nanaka is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nanaka pulls Cortes in close to his closed guard and prevents Cortes from doing any damage or advancing position.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Kitsuomi Nanaka just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Cortes tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nanaka paws at him with a jab and circles away. Nanaka darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Nanaka is thwarting Cortes's attempts to control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nanaka scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cortes is looking to improve his position.
Cortes wants to control but Nanaka is keeping busy.
Nanaka uses his free foot to push down on Cortes's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Cortes. Nanaka looking to finish with strikes here!
Nanaka can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cortes is looking to escape. Nanaka looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Cortes wants to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kitsuomi Nanaka dominated that round. That's time! Nanaka's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Nanaka shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Nanaka showed some decent athleticism there. Cortes is looking to control Nanaka's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Cortes avoid being mounted? Nanaka is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Cortes is just riding it out for now. Nanaka eventually gives up the hold. Nanaka throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Nanaka not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Nanaka is looking to take a break and control but Cortes is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Cortes is trying to maintain the position but Nanaka is very close to passing his half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nanaka prevents Cortes from standing back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Nanaka misses with a takedown attempt - Cortes sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Cortes fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Cortes thows a body shot but no joy. Nanaka bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Nanaka throwing shots but missing, from side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The strikes coming from Nanaka are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Nanaka tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Cortes tries to bench press Nanaka off him but Nanaka keeps the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nanaka trying to control the position but Cortes is working away. Nanaka is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Cortes looks calm but he's in trouble here. Nanaka gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Cortes is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Nanaka lets go of the hold and Cortes can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Kitsuomi Nanaka!
