PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Randy Orton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lyoto Andres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Randy Orton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lyoto Andres!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Chad Campbell and Jorge Garcia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Orton tries to bum rush Andres with a series of wild strikes but Andres uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Andres throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Andres shoots in looking for a takedown. Orton tries to sprawl out of it but Andres keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Orton manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Orton stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Orton wants it to stay on the feet.

Orton shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Andres's guard.

Orton tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Andres has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Andres lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Orton hang on?
Orton is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Andres throws some wild stikes that Orton manages to avoid easily.

Orton tries to hold on but Andres pushes him away.
Orton can't escape the position.
Andres sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Orton wants to get back to his feet.
Andres is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Orton can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Andres scoring with strikes but Orton is staying in there.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Orton's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Orton is breathing heavily.

Andres landing strikes, looking to finish!
Andres scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Orton?
Orton wants to hold on but Andres pushes him away.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Andres wants to control the pace but Orton is squirming around nicely.
Orton trying desperately to get to his feet.

Orton is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Orton tries to hold on but Andres postures up.
Orton is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Andres is working for a guillotine from mount but Orton frees his head quite easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Orton is working to get back to half guard.

Orton misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Orton seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Andres shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Orton is backing up but Andres catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Orton covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Andres Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
