Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jan Helge Moskvil! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Carlo Labayen! The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Moskvil slaps away a takedown attempt from Labayen, before circling back to the center of the mat. Moskvil scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Moskvil stuffs the takedown attempt from Labayen. Labayen gets slowly back to his feet. Moskvil avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Moskvil shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Labayen manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Moskvil trying to control but Labayen is working from the bottom. Moskvil wants to get up but he can't break Labayen's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Labayen controls Moskvil momentarily but Moskvil frees himself. Moskvil sitting in guard, not really doing much. Labayen is looking to stand back up but Moskvil counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Labayen.
That's one minute gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Moskvil in particular looking to stall. Labayen is looking for a sweep. Moskvil is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Moskvil passes to side control. Moskvil controls the position. Moskvil stands up. A decent looking body kick lands there for Moskvil. Labayen looks gassed! Labayen leaves Moskvil with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Labayen avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Moskvil changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Labayen looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. A lull in the action here as Moskvil stalls from top position. Labayen is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Labayen manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Moskvil has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Labayen is working away from the top position though. Moskvil makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Moskvil.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Labayen preventing the sweep. Moskvil is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Labayen postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Labayen is fighting to break Moskvil's control of his arms but Moskvil is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Moskvil controls Labayen momentarily but Labayen frees himself.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Jan Helge Moskvil just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Labayen closes the distance and clinches up with Moskvil, looking for a takedown. Labayen pushes Moskvil against the cage but Moskvil circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Jan Helge Moskvil has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlo Labayen. Moskvil darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Moskvil is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Moskvil tries to clinch but fails miserably and Labayen counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Moskvil closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Labayen to the mat! Labayen manages to get full guard. Labayen seems keen to control Moskvil's posture. Moskvil wants to pass the guard but Labayen is keeping the position. Labayen is trying to control the position but Moskvil postures up. Moskvil trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Labayen looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Labayen keeping moving, preventing Moskvil from controlling successfully. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Labayen controlling Moskvil's posture. Moskvil tries to free his leg and advance position but Labayen is retaining full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Moskvil works a leg free and moves into half guard. Moskvil trying to control from half guard but Labayen is working away. Labayen is trying to stand.
Moskvil decides to stand and escape the position. Moskvil misses with a few strikes there.

Moskvil connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Labayen's hands. Jan Helge Moskvil is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Moskvil looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Labayen connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Moskvil fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Labayen tries to clinch but fails miserably and Moskvil counters with a nice double leg into guard. Labayen controlling the position. Labayen throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Labayen pushes Moskvil off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Moskvil fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Labayen sprawls well initially but Moskvil persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Moskvil is pressing down on Labayen's thigh, looking to free his foot. Labayen is holding on for now. Labayen is refusing to be controlled, as Moskvil sits in half guard. Labayen is looking to control Moskvil's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Labayen avoid being mounted? Moskvil is working for a submission of some sort.

Jan Helge Moskvil dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Moskvil throws the kick towards the body but Labayen avoids it. Labayen lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Moskvil at a distance.

Moskvil shoots for a takedown but Labayen saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Labayen throws a chopping leg kick but Moskvil manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Moskvil will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Labayen closes the distance and clinches. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Moskvil pushes Labayen back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Labayen fails to pull the fight into his guard.
A frustrated look appears on Labayen's face as he tries to break the clinch. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Moskvil tries to circle away but Labayen has him pinned against the cage. Labayen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. A punch combination from Moskvil misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Labayen closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Moskvil manages to get to full guard.
Moskvil looking for a sweep. Not yet Moskvil, not yet. Labayen trying to control the position from guard on top but Moskvil is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Moskvil working for a triangle but Labayen defends it easily.
Labayen wants to control from the top but Moskvil keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Moskvil tries to land a sweep but no joy. Labayen decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Labayen tries to keep at a distance but Moskvil has taken the fight into the clinch. The referee calls for Labayen to work.

Labayen trying to control the position but instead, Moskvil has worked for underhooks and has pushed Labayen into the cage. Good body shot from Moskvil.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Labayen clinches up against the cage. Labayen tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Labayen is trying to drag Moskvil to the mat but Moskvil just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Jan Helge Moskvil has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlo Labayen. Moskvil gets through Labayen's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Moskvil breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Labayen tries to clinch there but Moskvil circles away.

Labayen is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Moskvil is defending well for now. Labayen tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Moskvil smiles and moves away.
Moskvil lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Labayen backs up against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Moskvil throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Labayen was covering up waiting for the punch and Moskvil finishes the takedown easily into guard. Labayen avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Jan Helge Moskvil overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Moskvil passes Labayen's left leg - he's now in half guard. Moskvil postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Labayen to stand up. Labayen misses the shot to the body. Labayen takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Carlo Labayen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Moskvil clinches up with Labayen and pushes him back against the cage.
And that's the end of the fight! Jan Helge Moskvil showed his dominance in that final round. Well Moskvil has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
