Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, John Berry! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Dario Mancinelli! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, William Gold and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mancinelli fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Berry tries to clinch but Mancinelli moves out of range. Mancinelli fails with a takedown attempt. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mancinelli. John Berry has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dario Mancinelli. Mancinelli is trying hard to land a takedown here. Berry sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Berry misses with a two punch combination.
Mancinelli shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Mancinelli showed some decent athleticism there. Berry looks like he's trying to stand up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Mancinelli has a takedown stuffed. Mancinelli shoots in for a takedown but Berry shows good takedown defense. Berry stuffs the takedown attempt from Mancinelli. Mancinelli gets slowly back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. A nice combination there by Berry.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Berry breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Berry wants to clinch up but Mancinelli keeps it at a distance. Berry moves in looking to clinch but Mancinelli pushes him off. Berry tries to clinch but Mancinelli moves out of range. Mancinelli shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Berry as he jumps to the side. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that John Berry will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Mancinelli shoots for a takedown but Berry saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. John Berry is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Berry tries to close the distance and clinch but Mancinelli swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Berry tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mancinelli paws at him with a jab and circles away. Mancinelli is trying hard to land a takedown here. Mancinelli dives in and grabs Berry's left leg, looking for a takedown. Berry pushes down on Mancinelli's head and hops out. Mancinelli shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Berry pinned against the cage. Berry gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Berry drives through and clinches with Mancinelli against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Berry breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. A left and a right from Berry both land. Nice combination. Berry doesn't manage to clinch there - Mancinelli circles away.
Berry feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Mancinelli is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Berry is aware though and is defending well. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Berry tries to stand but Mancinelli is controlling from the bottom. Mancinelli working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Berry doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Mancinelli is tightening it up a little... Berry has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Berry reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Berry taps out! nice BJJ there by Mancinelli!
