Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johan Blick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz comes into the arena with Take My Hand blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Blick sprawls well. Blick wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Diaz gets slowly back to his feet. Blick darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Diaz is looking for a sweep. Blick is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Blick thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Diaz is staying active underneath Blick, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Blick not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Diaz tries to roll over but Blick keeps him under control. Blick wants to take a breather but Diaz is having none of it. Diaz is trying to get back to full guard. Blick is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Well, if Blick is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Blick misses with a two punch combination.
Nick Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Diaz shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Blick is trying to defend but Diaz finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Diaz tries to pass the half guard into mount. Blick knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Blick regains full guard. Nicely done. Diaz has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Diaz looking to pass the guard. Blick thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Blick is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Diaz is aware though and is defending well. Diaz trying to control but Blick is working from the bottom. Blick is looking for a triangle but Diaz pushes his legs off easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Diaz working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Blick's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Blick not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Diaz drops back, looking for a kneebar! Blick looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Blick looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Blick! Blick is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Diaz has escaped the position, nice work there. Diaz wants to control but Blick postures up. Diaz is breathing heavily. Blick is trying to get an arm triangle but Diaz is defending well. Blick lands a few punches from side control. Blick wants to lay and pray for a moment but Diaz keeps working.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Blick tries for a kimura but Diaz is defending well. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Diaz is looking to regain half guard here but Blick keeps moving and retains side control. Blick sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Diaz is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Diaz is not content to let Blick control the position. Blick tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Blick has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Diaz doesn't succeed with the takedown and Blick counters with a nice uppercut. Blick tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Diaz swivels and escapes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Diaz tries to clinch there but Blick circles away.
Diaz shoots in for a double leg but Blick sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nick Diaz. That's going to take a lot out of him. Diaz looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Blick swats away the attempt to clinch by Diaz. Blick lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Blick drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Blick wants to control but Diaz is keeping him busy. Diaz is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Blick looks up at the clock and then as Diaz takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Blick smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Johan Blick dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

The fighters are battling for position here. Diaz manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Diaz throws his legs up looking for a submission but Blick uses it to pass to side control.
Blick controls the position. Blick is looking to take a break and control but Diaz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Diaz is trying to improve his position. Blick has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Diaz is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Blick yanks on the arm and Diaz is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Blick.
