Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ben Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Estefan Caleb (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ben Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Estefan Caleb!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Columbo Gatti and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams throws a head kick that misses.
Caleb shoots in for a takedown but Williams shows good takedown defense.
Caleb moves in looking to clinch but Williams pushes him off.
Williams throws a leg kick which misses Caleb's front leg but catches the back leg as Caleb tries to avoid it.
Caleb shoots in and drives through. Williams sprawls well.
Williams avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Williams shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Caleb defends it nicely.
Caleb circles away from the clinch attempt.
A head kick by Caleb misses

and Williams counters with a takedown into side control.
Caleb tries to bench press Williams off him but Williams keeps the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Williams has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Caleb can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Caleb passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Williams is not content to let Caleb control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Williams swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Williams throws a head kick that Caleb semi-blocks.
Caleb throws a push kick but Williams slaps the foot to one side.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Williams ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Williams no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Williams shoots for a takedown but Caleb saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Williams throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Caleb was covering up waiting for the punch and Williams finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Williams thuds his shin into the meat of Caleb's side.
Caleb tries to clinch up but Williams circles away and keeps his distance.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Williams darts in and clinches Caleb up against the cage.
Caleb goes for a takedown attempt but Williams pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Williams rushes Caleb and presses him up against the cage.

Williams manages to break the clinch.
Caleb dodges the punch combination from Williams.
Caleb throws a low kick but it's checked well by Williams.
Williams rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Caleb moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Williams stalks Caleb and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Caleb's face. Caleb staggers backwards, shaken.
Danga de danga de dang - Williams scores with a four punch combination!
Williams shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Caleb as he jumps to the side.
Williams tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Williams shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Caleb pinned against the cage. Caleb gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Williams circles away from the clinch attempt.

Williams throws a series of punches but Caleb moves out of range.
Caleb looks for a takedown but Williams sprawls well.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ben Williams.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Williams, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
