Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jon Forte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Clark Kent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jon Forte!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Clark Kent!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Forte leaves Kent with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Forte gets a clinch.

Forte successfully pulls guard.
Kent wants to control from the top but Forte keeps moving.
Forte is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Forte pulls Kent in close to prevent any damage.
Kent trying to control the position from guard on top but Forte is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Forte wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Kent stopping the sweep attempt from Forte.
Kent must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Forte rushes Kent and presses him up against the cage.
Forte utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
Kent prevents a takedown attempt there.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Forte gets underhooks to prevent Kent's takedown attempt.
Forte blocks an uppercut.
Forte lands a nice elbow from the clinch.


It looks like Clark Kent has been cut.
Kent tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Forte just stands there and leans against the cage.
Jon Forte has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Clark Kent.
Kent wants to get back to striking at distance but Forte won't allow it.

Forte drags the fight down to the ground.

Forte has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kent can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Forte is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Kent is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Forte is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Forte has escaped and now he's on top!
Kent looking to control.

Forte stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kent swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kent is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Forte stands and steps away. Kent gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Clark Kent seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kent closes the distance looking to clinch
and Forte counters with a stiff right hand.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kent falls off balance throwing a combination

and Forte counters by clinching up.

Forte pulls guard successfully.
Forte is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Forte is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Kent preventing the sweep.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kent lands a couple of digs.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jon Forte dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Clark Kent's cut.
That's time! Forte's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Forte tries to clinch up but Kent circles away and keeps his distance.

Forte has managed to clinch.

Forte breaks from the clinch.
Forte fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Kent darts in trying to clinch

and Forte counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Forte.
Kent keeping moving, preventing Forte from controlling successfully.
Forte controlling from the top position.
Kent is trying to control the position but Forte postures up.

Forte wants to control from the top but Kent keeps moving.
Forte slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Kent tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Kent really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Kent is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Forte sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Kent is desperately trying to improve his position but Forte has a good base and remains in mount.
Forte controlling from the full mount.
Forte prevents Kent from getting the reversal.
Forte looking to control but Kent is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kent is in a horrible position here. Forte smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Forte controlling the position easily from mount.
Forte trying to control but Kent is having none of it.
Forte is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Kent can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Forte looking to finish Kent with some ground and pound. This is bad for Kent!
Forte can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kent is looking to escape.
Kent is looking to get to half guard.
Forte trying to control but Kent is having none of it.
Kent keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jon Forte dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Clark Kent's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Forte shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Forte showed some decent athleticism there.
Forte with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Forte wants to take a breather but Kent is having none of it.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Jon Forte just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Forte tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Kent shoots and misses

and Forte counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Kent wants to control the action here but instead Forte manages to pass to full mount!
Forte sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Kent is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Kent takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Forte raining down shots from the mount!
Forte won't let Kent get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Kent working to try and regain half guard.
Forte controlling from the full mount.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Forte has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Forte landing shots from mount.
Forte looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Kent is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Forte scoring with strikes but Kent is staying in there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Forte with a couple of short strikes.
Forte controlling from mount.
Forte lands a big elbow.
Kent is desperately trying to improve his position but Forte has a good base and remains in mount.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Forte cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Forte is landing with some decent strikes but Kent is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Forte avoids the attempt from Kent to control.
Forte cracks Kent with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kent wants to control but Forte is having none of it.
Forte takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Kent wants to hold on but Forte pushes him away.
Forte trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Forte content just to control the position here.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jon Forte showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Forte has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
