Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kato Denis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rotun Djere! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Alec Ball and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Denis looks for a takedown but Djere sprawls well. Djere looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Djere misses with a wild combination.
Djere tries to bum rush Denis with a series of wild strikes but Denis uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Djere looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Denis is fending him off so far but Djere persists. Nope, Denis circles away and we're back to standing. Denis shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Denis throws a right and a left that both miss. Djere throws a nice looking combination but Denis bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Denis throws a sloppy head kick and Djere moves out of range easily. Denis has his takedown stuffed and Djere counters with a nice double leg into guard. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kato Denis. That's going to take a lot out of him. Denis looking to hit a scissor sweep but Djere is one step ahead there. Djere wants to stand but Denis is controlling his posture from full guard. Denis is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Djere is controlling him. Denis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Djere on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Denis thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Denis is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Denis is looking for a triangle but Djere pushes his legs off easily.

Denis is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Denis tries for a takedown but Djere circles away easily so Djere counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Djere trying to control the position from guard on top but Denis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Denis trying to keep a closed guard but Djere is proving a slippery customer.
Denis keeping moving, preventing Djere from controlling successfully. Djere pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Denis is keeping the position for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Denis looking to hit a scissor sweep but Djere is one step ahead there. Denis working a defensive guard here.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Denis avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Denis closes the distance and clinches up with Djere, looking for a takedown. Denis pushes Djere against the cage but Djere circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Denis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Djere tries to avoid it but Denis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Djere to the ground. Djere escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Djere takes the fight into the clinch. Djere tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Denis just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Denis has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Djere avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Djere jumps into guard, dragging Denis to the mat.
Denis wants to control from the top but Djere keeps moving. Djere preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Djere utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Denis wants to control from the top but Djere keeps moving. Djere is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rotun Djere dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Horrible takedown by Denis or perhaps it was just good defense by Djere which made him look bad. Denis is looking to clinch. Denis shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Djere as he jumps to the side. Denis shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Djere sprawls well. Djere wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Denis gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kato Denis. That's going to take a lot out of him. Denis closes the distance and clinches. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Djere manages to break the clinch.
Denis tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Djere swivels and escapes. Denis looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Djere tries to bum rush Denis with a series of wild strikes but Denis uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
That's one minute gone in the round. Djere lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Djere. Djere throws a left and a right that both miss
and Denis counters with a lovely straight right hand! Djere tries to clinch up. Djere throws a head kick that misses and Denis counters with a lovely straight right hand! Denis rushes Djere and presses him up against the cage. Denis goes for a takedown in the clinch but Djere prevents it.
Denis swings wildly with an uppercut but Djere uses good head movement to avoid it. Denis wants a takedown.

and Djere holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Djere tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Denis just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Djere has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Denis clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Denis looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Denis is really stuck here.
Good control from Djere. Djere throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. I really don't envy Denis right now.
Djere throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch. Denis trying to control but not successfully. So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
You can see the frustration on Denis's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Denis trying to control the action but Djere just sinks the hooks in. Denis can't escape the position.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Djere tries to get the hooks in deep but Denis pushed the leg off. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Denis trying to control the hands but Djere won't let him. You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Rotun Djere showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Denis tries to close the distance and clinch but Djere swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Denis is defended easily by Djere. Rotun Djere seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Denis connects with a high kick. Denis with a lazy takedown attempt and Djere counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Djere. Denis looking for a sweep. Not yet Denis, not yet. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Denis keeping moving, preventing Djere from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Djere lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Denis tries to land a sweep but no joy. Djere stops Denis from standing up. Denis trying to keep a closed guard but Djere is proving a slippery customer.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Denis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Djere's waist but Djere gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Denis off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kato Denis. That's going to take a lot out of him. Djere drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Djere working the ground and pound from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Denis tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Djere easily slips into full mount! Djere controlling the position easily from mount. Djere scoring with strikes but Denis is staying in there. Denis is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Djere sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Denis tries to reverse the position but Djere maintains control. Djere landing strikes from the mount and Denis is in trouble! Denis wants to control but Djere is having none of it. Rotun Djere is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Denis is wriggling around trying to escape.
Denis tries to hold on but Djere postures up. Djere tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Djere gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Denis stuffs the takedown attempt from Djere. Djere gets slowly back to his feet. Denis swinging wildly here.
Kato Denis has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Denis scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
And that's the end of the fight! Rotun Djere comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Djere has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
