Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roderick Edwards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andres Bernardini (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Edwards comes to the ring accompanied by Animal I have Become. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roderick Edwards! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andres Bernardini! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bernardini throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Edwards stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Horrible takedown by Edwards or perhaps it was just good defense by Bernardini which made him look bad. Bernardini slaps away a takedown attempt from Edwards, before circling back to the center of the mat. Edwards fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roderick Edwards. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bernardini throws a nice looking combination but Edwards bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Edwards showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bernardini.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bernardini slaps away a takedown attempt from Edwards, before circling back to the center of the mat. Edwards takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
That's one minute gone in the round. Edwards tries for a takedown but Bernardini sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Bernardini slaps away a takedown attempt from Edwards, before circling back to the center of the mat. Bernardini throws and low kick but Edwards moves out of range easily. Bernardini throws a hook to the side of Edwards's head but Edwards sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Edwards has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Bernardini finds it's way round the side to connect with Edwards's head. Bernardini stuffs the takedown attempt from Edwards. Edwards gets slowly back to his feet. Edwards shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bernardini but Bernardini pushes him off and we're back to square one. Edwards shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Bernardini lands a nice hook to Edwards's body. Edwards takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Bernardini swinging wildly here.
Bernardini stuffs the takedown attempt from Edwards. Edwards gets slowly back to his feet. Edwards scores a takedown into full mount! Bernardini tries to hold on but Edwards postures up. Edwards looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Edwards tries to control but Bernardini wriggling away. Bernardini's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bernardini bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Bernardini wants to stand but Edwards is controlling his posture from full guard. Bernardini is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Edwards has a closed guard, preventing Bernardini from standing up. Bernardini trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Bernardini must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A right-left combo lands from Bernardini. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Andres Bernardini dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Edwards looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bernardini is fending him off so far but Edwards persists. Nope, Bernardini circles away and we're back to standing. Bernardini swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Bernardini connects with a body shot. No luck with that takedown attempt from Edwards. Edwards shoots in but no luck this time. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roderick Edwards. That's going to take a lot out of him. Edwards fails to land the takedown. Bernardini throws out a loose jab but Edwards uses good head movement to avoid it. Edwards fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bernardini avoids it really well and circles away. Edwards closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Edwards lands in his opponent's guard. Bernardini is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Edwards is aware though and is defending well. Edwards avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Edwards is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bernardini is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Edwards is controlling him. Edwards tries to free his leg and advance position but Bernardini is retaining full guard. Edwards stops Bernardini from standing up. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Edwards passes easily into side control. Nice work. Edwards is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Bernardini has escaped the position, nice work there. Edwards is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bernardini is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Bernardini is looking to reverse the position. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Edwards is working to tighten is grip on Bernardini's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Bernardini has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Edwards is really squeezing tight and eventually Bernardini passes out! Edwards breaks the hold and jumps onto the ropes to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
