The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vilkuttaja steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Finch. Finch looks for a takedown but Vilkuttaja sprawls well. Vilkuttaja shoots in and bounces Finch off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Finch is breathing heavily. Vilkuttaja loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Vilkuttaja trying to control but Finch is working from the bottom. Finch preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Vilkuttaja accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Vilkuttaja loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Vilkuttaja makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Vilkuttaja with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Vilkuttaja cracks Finch with a solid left hand. Vilkuttaja stays in close to Finch's body and controls the position. Vilkuttaja avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Finch keeping moving, preventing Vilkuttaja from controlling successfully. Vilkuttaja chips away with some ground and pound. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Vilkuttaja accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Vilkuttaja working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Finch's head. Vilkuttaja working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Vilkuttaja is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. I looks like Vilkuttaja might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Vilkuttaja sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Finch's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vilkuttaja looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Vilkuttaja is working for a submission of some sort.
Vilkuttaja landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Finch looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Vilkuttaja is taking a breather. Finch says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vilkuttaja looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Vilkuttaja is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Finch on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Vilkuttaja works his foot free and advances to mount. Vilkuttaja looking for a guillotine from mount but Finch is having none of it. Finch wants to control but Vilkuttaja is having none of it. Vilkuttaja landing shots from mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vilkuttaja lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Finch is bucking up trying to escape but Vilkuttaja cracks him with another couple of good strikes. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Finch really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
The referee warns Finch that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Vilkuttaja is landing with some decent strikes but Finch is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Vilkuttaja cracks Finch with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Murheellinen Vilkuttaja!
