Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mark Downer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jones Shane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shane has chosen Elephant Man - Haters (feat Hunt & Jim Jones) as his entrance music. Mark Downer could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jones Shane's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mark Downer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jones Shane! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Radbod Blank and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Downer stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Shane. Downer looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Downer throws a leg kick and Shane counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Shane fails with an attempt to clinch.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Shane.
Mark Downer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Shane tries to close the distance and clinch but Downer swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Shane tries to bum rush Downer with a series of wild strikes but Downer uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Shane lands with a nice body kick. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Downer takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Shane punishes Downer's body with a nice straight punch. Shane throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Downer takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shane misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Shane scores with a kick to the midsection. Shane gets in close and instigates a clinch. Shane lands an elbow just above Downer 's eye. Shane's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Shane clinches up against the ropes. A short uppercut from Shane. Shane creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Downer's defenses. Shane breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Shane lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Downer circles away quickly and effectively. Shane will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Downer throws a combination that misses and Shane counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Downer thinking. Shane misses with a series of wild punches.

Shane tries to close the distance and clinch but Downer swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Downer moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Downer misses with a leg kick and Shane counters with a good low kick that Downer was not able to check.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shane lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Shane moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Shane misses with a two punch combination.
Downer misses with a double jab
and Shane counters with a flying knee. Nice. Shane throws a leg kick which misses Downer's front leg but catches the back leg as Downer tries to avoid it. Shane lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shane swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Shane misses with a few strikes there.
A decent looking cross lands there for Shane. Shane misses with a jab, cross combination.
Shane lands a jab-cross combination. Downer really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Downer tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Shane paws at him with a jab and circles away. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Downer avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Shane lands with a nice body punch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jones Shane dominated that round. That's time! Downer's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Shane is looking to clinch but Downer is avoiding it.
Shane wants to clinch but Downer slips to the side and Downer cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Shane misses with the combination.
Shane throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Downer is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Shane throws a right and a left that Downer avoids nicely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A nice inside leg kick there by Shane. That's going to slow Downer down. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Shane's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Shane duly obliges. Shane scores with a kick to the midsection.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shane gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. A short right from Shane on the inside. Shane pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Downer wants to clinch but Shane slips to the side and Shane counters with a three punch combo that has Downer backing up. Downer nods at Shane to acknowledge the strikes. Shane tries to clinch up but Downer circles away and keeps his distance. Shane lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Downer circles away quickly and effectively. Jones Shane seems to be getting the better of the standup. Downer tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Shane counters with an inside leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Downer circles away from the clinch attempt.
Downer tries to clinch and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Downer swats away the attempt to clinch by Shane. Downer tries to clinch and Shane counters with a one-two to the body. Shane ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Shane tries to bum rush Downer with a series of wild strikes but Downer uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Downer tries to land a body kick and Shane counters with a stiff right hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A combination from Shane does no damage. Downer lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Mark Downer is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Downer swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Shane counters with a two punch combo. Shane swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Downer misses with the body kick and Shane counters with a slapping leg kick. A clash of legs there as Shane blocks the low kick. Shane throws a series of punches but Downer moves out of range. Shane lands with a nice combination. Downer backs away looking to recover.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Downer takes a swing at Shane's ribcage but misses. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Shane.
The fight stays on the outside here - Shane looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Downer thows a body shot but no joy. Downer takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Shane closes the distance and lands a one-two. Shane connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jones Shane showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Downer with a jab. Downer has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. Downer is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Shane lands a high kick!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shane tries to clinch but fails miserably and Downer moves into the clinch. Shane's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Shane scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Downer blocks a head kick by Shane.
Downer moves out of range of the body kick. Shane connects with a solid leg kick. Shane has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Downer fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Shane, pushing him back against the ropes. Shane keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Downer's efforts to push away. Shane breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Shane.
Good leg kick by Shane there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Downer moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Shane lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Downer has managed to clinch.
Shane escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and Downer counters by clinching up. Mark Downer has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jones Shane is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Downer leaning his opponent against the ropes. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Downer working aggressively here.
Downer struggles to land a body shot inside as Shane controls his hands.
And that's the end of the fight! Jones Shane comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Shane winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
