Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rocky Browndog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Hartley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Browndog might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to (listen to this). Hartley has chosen "Kick In The Teeth" as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Browndog fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hartley avoids it really well and circles away. Browndog is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hartley sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Browndog changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hartley tries to avoid it but Browndog manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hartley to the ground. Hartley escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rocky Browndog. That's going to take a lot out of him. Browndog throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Browndog. Hartley throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Browndog was covering up waiting for the punch and Hartley finishes the takedown easily into guard. Hartley thows a big elbow that misses. Browndog has his foot on Hartley's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hartley works his way back into a safe position though. Hartley throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Hartley advances position into side control! Hartley wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Browndog, who protects the arm well. Browndog sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hartley is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Browndog is just riding it out for now. Hartley eventually gives up the hold. Hartley is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Browndog shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Hartley counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Hartley is trying to control the action in half guard but Browndog is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Browndog might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Browndog is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hartley pulls his head out easily. Browndog is staying active underneath Hartley, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The fighters are battling for position here. Browndog manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Hartley got a little sloppy there for a moment and Browndog has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hartley has managed to get both his arms back between Browndog's legs - danger averted.

Hartley slips out almost immediately though and dives into Browndog's guard. Hartley trying to control the position from guard on top but Browndog is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hartley misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

He's managed it - he's now in full mount! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hartley is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Browndog can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rocky Browndog. Well Hartley has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality.
