1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Farooq Turkman! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Turkman throws a right and a left that both miss. Turkman tries a head kick but it misses.
Turkman stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Turkman wants it to stay on the feet. Dawson shoots in but Turkman avoids the takedown attempt easily. Turkman gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Dawson counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Dawson prevents Turkman from standing back up.
Dawson stalling. Dawson is looking for a kimura but Turkman is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dawson to get the leverage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dawson tries to stand and escape but Turkman is controlling the position. Turkman wants to improve his position but Dawson is controlling well.

Dawson circles away from the clinch attempt and Dawson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Dawson. Turkman working a defensive guard but Dawson passes into half guard.
Dawson is figuring out what he wants to do next. Turkman is looking for a sweep. Dawson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Dawson winds up and cracks Turkman with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Dawson prevents Turkman from improving his position. Dawson prevents Turkman from standing back up.

Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Turkman. Turkman squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

Dawson is looking to slow Turkman down with leg kicks. Turkman throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Turkman looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Turkman tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Dawson paws at him with a jab and circles away. Turkman tries to clinch but Dawson moves away and Dawson counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Dawson wants to take a breather but Turkman is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Turkman trying to control but Dawson postures up.
Dawson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Turkman does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Dawson wants to pass to mount but Turkman is defending the position. Turkman wants to control but Dawson is keeping busy and won't allow it.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Turkman looks to clinch and Dawson counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Dawson trying to mount his opponent but Turkman defends it. Dawson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Turkman keeps working. Turkman looks like he's trying to stand up.

Turkman avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Dawson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Turkman tries to strike from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kieran Dawson. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dawson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
