PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between King Pin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trent Malloy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Malloy's choice of entrance music: Was It True. King Pin is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Alyssa Summers and Bruno Lombardi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pin shoots in but Malloy avoids the takedown attempt easily.
King Pin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Malloy shoots in and bounces Pin off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Malloy slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Malloy would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Malloy wants to control from the top but Pin keeps moving.
Pin throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Malloy is stalling in the full guard.

Pin had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Malloy is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Pin Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Malloy's back instead.

Pin is looking for the choke from the back position but Malloy is controlling his hands well.
Pin trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Pin is breathing heavily.
Malloy breaks Pin's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pin can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Malloy controls the pace.
Malloy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Pin keeping moving, preventing Malloy from controlling successfully.

Pin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Malloy gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Malloy is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Pin is working an open guard so Malloy takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Malloy gets the takedown into side control.
The referee asks Malloy politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Malloy prefers to stall for the moment though.

Pin can't do much from the bottom here.
Malloy moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Pin is looking for a sweep.

Pin manages to work his way to half guard, despite Malloy's best efforts.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pin moves into full guard.

Pin manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Pin is working for a guillotine from mount but Malloy frees his head quite easily.
Pin cracks Malloy with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Pin goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Malloy is on top in guard.
Malloy trying to control but Pin is working from the bottom.
Malloy is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Malloy decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Pin fails with the takedown.
A punch combination from Malloy misses.
Pin looks for the body kick but Malloy saw that one coming.
Pin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Malloy counters by clinching up.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for King Pin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Pin has Malloy pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Malloy manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Malloy blocks a body shot from Pin.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Trent Malloy dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Pin shoots in but Malloy avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Pin takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Malloy looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pin is fending him off so far but Malloy persists. Nope, Pin circles away and we're back to standing.
Pin fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
The fighters circling - Malloy throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
A combination from Pin does no damage.
King Pin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Malloy scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Pin tries to bench press Malloy off him but Malloy keeps the position.

Malloy decides to stand back up.

Malloy rushes Pin and presses him up against the cage.
Pin has had enough of the clinch but Malloy keeps him there for the moment.

Malloy breaks the clinch.

Malloy is breathing heavily.
Malloy gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Pin.
Malloy checks the leg kick.
Pin throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Pin stalks Malloy and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Malloy's face. Malloy staggers backwards, shaken.

Malloy shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pin as he avoids it easily.

Pin drives through with a takedown into guard.
Pin postures up.
Malloy tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Trent Malloy has got the better of the ground game so far.
Malloy is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Malloy keeping full guard, as Pin tries to pass.
Pin throwing strikes but missing.
Pin slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Malloy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Pin shoots in and drives through. Malloy sprawls well.

Pin fails to pull guard.
Pin is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Malloy gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Malloy jumps into guard, dragging Pin to the mat.
Pin tries to free his leg and advance position but Malloy is retaining full guard.

Pin drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Malloy dives on top into guard.

Pin is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Pin is looking to get back to full guard here but Malloy has managed to pass to side control instead.
Malloy has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Pin's face.
Pin wants to control but Malloy is having none of it.
Malloy lands a nice shot to the head.

Malloy cracks Pin with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Pin really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Malloy swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Pin is now in Malloy's guard. A big mistake from Malloy there, giving up the dominant position!
Pin chips away with some ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Trent Malloy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Pin misses with an uppercut. Malloy saw that one coming.
Malloy waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Pin.
Pin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Malloy.
Pin misses with a series of wild punches.

Malloy feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Pin looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Malloy has picked Pin up and slammed him! Pin can't keep hold of the triangle and Malloy manages to pass to side control!

Malloy stands up and beckons Pin to his feet.
Pin throws a series of strikes that have Malloy backpedaling.
Pin lands with a shot to the body.
Pin shoots in looking for a takedown. Malloy tries to sprawl out of it but Pin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Malloy manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Malloy decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Pin's guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Malloy stays in close to Pin's body and controls the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Malloy bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Pin is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Malloy's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
