PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between LaShawn Reddman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Hargh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Reddman might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Headstrong. Hargh has chosen Dominant view as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, LaShawn Reddman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ken Hargh !
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, John Roberts and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reddman ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hargh moves away.
Reddman looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
LaShawn Reddman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice takedown defense from Reddman. No joy for Hargh on that attempt.
Reddman lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Reddman throws a right and a left that Hargh avoids nicely.
Reddman throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hargh sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Hargh throws a series of punches but Reddman moves out of range.
Reddman misses with a combination
and Reddman takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.


It looks like LaShawn Reddman has been cut.
Hargh fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Reddman manages to avoid it.
Reddman lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Hargh backs up against the cage.

Hargh looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Reddman!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hargh avoids the attempt from Reddman to control.

Hargh with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Hargh unloads with some shots from mount but Reddman bucks and avoids them well.

Hargh wants to take his opponent's back but Reddman doesn't allow it.
Reddman is looking to improve his position but Hargh isn't that keen on the idea.
Reddman is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Hargh is working for a guillotine from mount but Reddman frees his head quite easily.
Hargh lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Reddman knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hargh on the ground.

Hargh swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Reddman is now in Hargh 's guard. A big mistake from Hargh there, giving up the dominant position!

Hargh is looking for a triangle but Reddman pushes his legs off easily.

Hargh throws his legs up looking for a submission but Reddman uses it to pass to side control.
Hargh is looking to regain half guard here but Reddman keeps moving and retains side control.
Hargh is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Hargh goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Reddman turns into him and now he's in Hargh 's guard.

Hargh escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Reddman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Hargh is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Reddman knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Hargh throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Reddman works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Hargh wants to work for an arm triangle but Reddman is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Reddman is looking for a sweep. Hargh is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Hargh seems to be working for a kimura but Reddman defends the submission attempt.
Hargh misses with a head shot. Reddman uses the momentum to regain guard.
Hargh is breathing heavily.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hargh 's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Hargh connects with a couple of short punches.
Hargh passes Reddman's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hargh thows a big elbow that misses.
Hargh throws a big right hand that misses.
Hargh working some strikes from top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hargh is pushing down on Reddman's leg trying to pass to half guard. Reddman is fighting to maintain full guard but Hargh has managed to sneak the leg through.

Hargh thows a huge punch but Reddman dodges it nicely.

Hargh looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Ken Hargh showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Hargh keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Reddman.
Reddman throws a looping overhand right but Hargh ducks down to avoid it.
Reddman throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Hargh , as that shot connected.
Reddman misses with an uppercut.
Reddman staying out of range there.
Hargh throws the left hand but Reddman avoids the punch easily.
Hargh getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

and Hargh counters with a one-two to the body.
A lazy left from Hargh finds it's target.
Reddman will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Reddman gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Hargh .

Reddman swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Reddman fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hargh looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Reddman moves away from the strike by Hargh .
Reddman lands with an uppercut that bounces Hargh off the cage and back into rage.
Reddman throws a left and a right that both miss

and Hargh counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Reddman's guard now.

Hargh working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Hargh is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Reddman is surviving well by controlling Hargh 's body position as best he can.

Hargh is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Reddman has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Reddman wants to hold on but Hargh pushes him away.

Hargh pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Hargh cracks Reddman with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Well Hargh has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
