Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jay Lidell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Grimm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lidell kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is tema dos guerreiro. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as John Grimm enters the cage!

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, George Francis and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lidell rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Grimm moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Lidell pushes Grimm up against the cage in a clinch.
Nice body punch from Lidell.
Grimm goes for a takedown in the clinch but Lidell prevents it.
Grimm tries to pull guard but Lidell holds him up against the cage and eventually Grimm drops back down to his feet.
Lidell throws a punch but it's blocked by Grimm.
Lidell lands with a short head shot on the inside.
It looks like John Grimm has been cut.
Grimm jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lidell walks away with a smile on his face. Grimm gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Jay Lidell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Grimm.
Lidell lands with a hook. Grimm tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Lidell lands a big uppercut and Grimm crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Grimm looks OK. Lidell waves Grimm back to his feet!

Lidell fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Grimm, pushing him back against the cage.

Lidell throws a punch but it's blocked by Grimm.
Lidell lands a nice shot to the body.
Grimm has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Lidell avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Lidell gets through Grimm's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
That has opened up John Grimm's cut even more.
Grimm has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Lidell uses from the top position.
Lidell wants to control from the top but Grimm keeps moving.
Lidell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Grimm on the ground.

Lidell stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Grimm swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lidell stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Grimm swivels though and keeps the full guard.

John Grimm's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Grimm misses with a takedown attempt - Lidell sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
