Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vinny Lavoie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Craig York (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Craig York will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vinny Lavoie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Craig York! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! York fails with a takedown attempt. Lavoie misses with a takedown attempt and York counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Lavoie looking to sweep here. No luck so far. York is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. York content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. York throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Lavoie looking for a guillotine here but York defends easily.
Lavoie seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. York throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lavoie works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Lavoie looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Lavoie looking to hit a scissor sweep but York is one step ahead there. Lavoie is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Lavoie holds on and takes a little breather. York postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. York got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lavoie has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, York has managed to get both his arms back between Lavoie's legs - danger averted. Lavoie on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lavoie tries to get out of the position. York throwing strikes from guard but Lavoie blocks nicely. York landing some decent shots from guard. York lands a couple of digs. Lavoie is trying to keep York in close.
Lavoie is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because York is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. York postures up in Lavoie's guard and throws a big left but Lavoie blocks it. York really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lavoie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. York postures up.
York won't allow Lavoie to sweep him here. Lavoie is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. York can't get the takedown.
York has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Lavoie is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Vinny Lavoie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Craig York. York is working for takedown but Lavoie is calmly controlling the position for now. Lavoie ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Lavoie no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Lavoie looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Lavoie trying to keep a closed guard but York is proving a slippery customer.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! York is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Lavoie is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Lavoie performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lavoie has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. York really wants to buck Lavoie off and get back to his feet. Lavoie dominating with strikes here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Lavoie looking to finish York with some ground and pound. This is bad for York! Lavoie has hold of York's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and York manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Lavoie won't let York get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Lavoie controlling the pace for now. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Vinny Lavoie will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Lavoie shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. York manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. York being controlled here, momentarily. Lavoie wants to control from the top but York keeps moving. Lavoie is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Vinny Lavoie just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Lavoie smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. York shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Lavoie counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Lavoie wants to pass to mount but York is defending the position. Lavoie lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Vinny Lavoie overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Lavoie not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Lavoie tries to pass to full mount but York defends it. York is in trouble now - Lavoie has advanced to mount! Lavoie sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vinny Lavoie dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

York with a lazy takedown attempt and Lavoie counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Lavoie with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Lavoie has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lavoie is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, York has managed to free his arm - good work. Lavoie moves into full mount! York won't be happy about that! Lavoie working for a guillotine from mount but York is in no mood to give up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lavoie looking to isolate an arm here. York doesn't see it coming and as Lavoie extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Lavoie!
